.DD is a Fantasy mode not made to be realistic
Fantasy ONLY in the sense that you use players of the past with today's present players.
Still not made to be realistic

If that's the case. then EVERY Card should be a Diamond GOD-Card. And EVERY Gold, Silver, Bronze & Common be made into Diamonds too & then Golds, Silver's, Bronze's & Commons wont even exist anymore because this is meant to be as Fantasy. So just make it all 100% Fantasy.

I am not disagreeing with your original post, I was stating what the mode is
The Topps Now, Future Cards, Prospect Cards are all unrealistic cards that make this mode not relistic, The Topps Now cards bug me the most out of those cards, A player has one good game, so lets give that player a 95 plus card. I do not mind the Retired players having high Diamonds. When they went to the 125 stats it killed the pitching in this game. -

While i agree that some of these cards are boosted way too much, the other edge of that sword is that they wont be competitive and it will be the same 25 players in every lineup. which did actually happen in the year everyone pretends doesnt exist

See that kind of logic doesn't work. Just because it's a fantasy mode doesn't mean it has to either be only fantasy or no fantasy. It's a silly type of argument people bring up all the time. There is middle ground, it doesn't have to be on one of two end extremes. It can be fantasy and not be what you present here.

We are still waiting for Grifey Jr and Ruth 99 cards

I do feel the game does need huge amounts of Content to keep many vested to play & grind hours on end to earn cards, stubs, complete missions, etc. MLBTS is doing just that & even more so this year. MLBTS 21 has more content to be earned rather then outright bought then any of the previous years.
They definitely overwhelmed us with "Quantity" this year & are sure to soon launch the Finest Series soon. Many my feel & think the "Quality" of all these cards are very good. With the fact that there are so many Diamonds 95+ within Signature, Awards, Mile-Stones, Finest, Etc. How can any NOT think or feel the Quality is great. However I do NOT & this is why ......
I'm 51 years old. I been seeing Baseball since I was 5 to 6 years old. I have seen 1,000's of player go thru their career & followed their career like most true devoted fans of the game does. Many of these players they are making into Diamonds & releasing out does NOT deserve to be Diamond Level. yes these players are very well known, popular & even famous. However their actual career stat totals does NOT meet Diamond level if you go by how Live players are evaluated with when they go up or down within Diamond, Gold, Silver, Bronze & Common. Many of these retired players released as Diamonds are Gold cards at best & some are even Silvers at best. Many of these retired players released as Diamonds are NOT even Hall Of Fame inductee's & were never even within top 5 list of votes received to enter the HOF during the years they were on the ballot before finally taken off the yearly ballot.
I do feel we do need all this content & all these retired players because us as fans will enjoy playing with or against such names. However these cards should reflect realistically on how their career stats were compared to Live series players today.
In regards to Live Series players that are getting premier cards released as Diamonds with Juiced Up stats is also OVER-KILLED with how Juiced up they are.Yes some of these players are the best within the sport today. And yes having a special card for them which is better then their Live Series card is needed. But it makes it more Comic Book Super Hero Fantasy with how high they are Juicing up attributes. Especially with Rookies or players with only 2 to 3 seasons put in so far & are getting cards like if they are GUARANTEED to have Caliber careers. The reality is that the Future is UNKNOWN & can NOT be predicted. So to me it makes NO SENSE to make a GOD-Card for someone who has NOT proven themselves yet at that level.
Again I do feel we need tons of Content & we have that. We have QUANTITY, But NOT QUALITY. I just feel cards should reflect more on REAL stats & if any are Juiced Up, then do it so it is better then Live Series, But NOT Flooding the game with OVER-KILLED Juiced Up God Cards for players whom does NOT merit that based on Career stats. The game will still be great to play with MORE REALISTIC cards.
Something we can agree upon. I absolutely despise seeing a card with better numbers than someone who actually accomplished their rating over their career, especially when that blown up card won't even sniff the hof.
-
I just think they need to tone back the rating system a bit. After a month almost every live series card is useless. I understand that better versions of these cards will be available. But do we need 95+ cards early in the game cycle. Every year everyone says the game played better at launch or at the beginning of the year.
In part I think part of the issue are these juiced cards. Possibly Juiced cards break gameplay.

Most of the Cards being released having Juiced Up God Stat Attributes are really just for show & does NOT play & preform to those attributes. Only certain cards will truly play & preform to what it's attributes reflects. That's why NO MATTER how many cards are released & launched. It will ALWAYS be the same core of 50 cards that everyone will be using 25 out of those 50 cards within their DD team. For example: ..... who does NOT have Degrom within their rotation? Enough said.
-
Just my thoughts.. while not a fan of juiced prospects these type of cards do help grow the game and that is part of what baseball needs
Also topps now is great because it also helps griws the game and gives peolle chances to use current players in a competetive setting, such as joey wendle
It also has allowed lineups to b different, live a little mix it up, what works well for one person may not for others
U are not competeting for money, u want bragging rights.. no thanks..
once u make world series and get reward then mix up team, u have accomplished the goal, u control it -

You should see what NBA 2K does. They consistently give out 99 overall cards to players like Bol Bol and Tacko Fall who barely ever play.

The whole point of ranked is that it’s YOUR BEST squad vs other people’s and even though everyone may have 99 cards that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be allowed in lower ranks. You’re turning ranked into a lineup restricted event, but that destroys the whole point. And I think would maybe even make it less fun. Also, let’s say little Timmy just got the game and grinds ta4 and gets an all 97-99 lineup. If he wants to use his lineup online (Which he will have to do for some missions). He will have to get to WS to use his real lineup? This idea would only work at the start of the year at best and the guys with god squads early game are not gonna be matching with Timmy and his half bronze lineup. Just doesn’t make sense to me. You’re gonna play against better teams, that’s baseball. And that’s the sacrifice you’re making to not grind as much. But save time and hop into h2h earlier. People just can’t take l’s nowadays huh?

No Way !!!! Only for 1st 60 days because it makes it fair play for EVERYONE because NOT everyone has the time to grind or money to buy stubs to develop their own God-Squad as quick as others do. So 60 days is very reasonable after the game is released. But you are 100% correct that anyone coming new into the game NOW can easily obtain a God-Squad team in 2 weeks to month via grinding out TA's.

While I like this idea I feel like it takes out a good amount of the fun. When your in regular season with a pci big as a house basically any card can rake and it’s fun to be the underdog. Although I see where you’re coming from the randomness and the chance to match up and beat some guy with every card is part of the fun to me. Especially when I was starting getting no hitters vs chipper jones guys with my 92 marichal.

I think there are so many good things they could do with content, because there are a lot of really cool things in place. However, the content is never going to fully make sense to the majority of players. The content is designed in a manner to make money for SDS. Yes, I know that the content is free and is so much better than any other sports game. But it is still designed in a way to get people to spend money. The game is not designed for the cards and gameplay to work and make sense over the course of twelve months...it is designed to maximize profits for as long as possible, until the next year drops. You don't need to spend money on the game, but many do and SDS has designed it in a way to capitalize on that. It is a business and you can't blame them for that.

It doesnt make it fair for everyone.it penalizes those that put more into it.doesnt matter if it is time or money, those that put more into it should get more out of it, not be held back by those who cant or wont.
