Nothing about OP post was bad or negative, Why do people care when someone does not like something about the game. Some people can not help them self and have to respond in a negative way. I will still be buying the game and will probably pre order. I do not take this game as serious as others. At the end of the day it is a video game. The games cost 60-100 and will entertain me for 365 days. Does online play have issues well yes do the servers have issues yes. If someone chooses to post I am not buying next year why do you all care enough to respond and if you say you do not care then why respond. You pick and choose what you respond to and how you respond. Some people make them selves look like a donkey's
You’re honestly right. I’m just new to these forums and when I first saw demise for some reason it ground my gears cause I love this game to bits and pieces. But I didn’t even know what their talking about. I don’t play ranked, this isn’t my place to talk. I just, was offended almost? Maybe it’s because it’s my first year, or because I don’t play much RS like I said earlier. It just seems magical. And I can play for hours and not get bored in the slightest. When I was grinding for Jackie on Xbox I remember staying up till 7 am just cause I was having that much fun playing at my new create a stadium and using all these weird 42 players. But I guess if everyone liked the same thing there wouldn’t be enough to go around. Thanks man.

I've done so every year previously since 2015. I've always gotten a deluxe or expanded version since they've been offered.
I am choosing to not support your game in this manner because your product doesn't deserve it. Between the terrible online environment and gameplay issues I'm not supporting it any further.
We as sports game fans have been taken advantage of over the recent years since Ultimate Team modes have become the prioritized game modes. We get rushed and incomplete yearly installments where all progress is erased and we're fed mostly repetitive content with minimal game improvements.
I'll be waiting for the next release to drop before I even consider purchasing this game, or any game for that matter. I suspect my days of mainly playing sports titles is ending. I hope people take the same stance as I, because the gaming community deserves better.
Stop crying, no one cares. This game gives you all the free content in the world and is arguably the best sports game out by far…quit being a baby

It is because they cater to the majority of the U.S. that has poor internet. There is a reason the alleged servers are in Florida, Chicago and NY. All areas with garbage internet.
Pretty sure Weens is in Philly so say I played him. The only servers between us are Chicago and NY. My internet can get to the NY server significantly faster than his can the Chicago server. Therefore, the game is going to connect to the New York server. That being said his information will likely get to the server first even though my internet is far better due to the distance. His game will play great (like always because you are not going 500-50 if it isn't), mine will play like [censored]. I can promise you if we played 10 games at each location, the results would be obvious.
There are a few problems with this scenario. Why am I matched up with this internet to begin with? There are not enough servers to combat this issue. Can we not find an opponent where the ping to the servers is close?

This game has been trash since 18, and SDS seems lost. Today I watched a streamer have 2 freeze offs in 4 games. He had a quit as soon as he scored, freeze off, full game and freeze off. This is unacceptable in November and it’s just one of the multiple issues this game has. And by the way I have played this game since 2006, so I’ve seen it grow into a bs franchise that content is saving

In what sports game does the things you mention not happen? In FIFA I am matched up mostly with people in the southwest, Mexico and sometimes South America. I am in Wisconsin. Its constant issues whenever I play seasons/rivals as I am connected to someone thousands of miles away. The core gameplay needs an overhaul. I'm only posting on here cuz I'm bored at work, but yeah.
I'm probably not buying again until there's clear improvements in gameplay. The copy/paste every year is the reason why I left COD however many years ago.

I didn’t buy ‘21 at all. I usually preorder every year and spend at least a few hundred if not 1-2k on stubs each year. I came to the exact same conclusion after the shambolic state of last years game. SDS do not seek to improve the quality of gameplay, nor do they give weight to the opinions and requests of players who invest hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in to their product. With all due respect, a player such as myself who would play 2000+ games a year, would realistically be able to offer more valid input than the guys who are forced to play test the game at work as a part of their job. The same guys who let the same bugs make it to release year after year, apparently don’t notice game breaking issues such as outfielders not making plays near walls, or beating able to throw to second base with your catcher when a steal occurs, those guys.
Anyway, as well as the stupid gameplay that doesn’t get worked out until summer, if at all, SDS went absolutely nuts with the cards and the content is now terrible every year as well. Time was, you’d be excited as a kid at Christmas when you finally managed to obtain one of your favourite legends for your DD squad. Huge grinds were not always fun, but the feeling of obtaining a card that was rare and elite like Ken Griffey Jr in ‘17, or that 99 Joe Mauer in ‘16 were always fun.
Obviously, as we saw in ‘18, when this concept is taken to it’s absolute extreme and the grind becomes too long and the elite rewards too few and far between, it stops being fun. This is where SDS lost the plot completely following the entirely justified criticism of the content structure in ‘18 and ruined DD forever. Now it doesn’t matter in the slightest little bit if you grind away and obtain your favourite legend. Cards like Griffey or Miggy aren’t even worth grinding for outside of the name and artwork on the card, because there are multiple fake versions of modern day players that play equally well or better than any legendary hall of famer. While there is an argument that all cards should be usable and not consigned to irrelevancy, that’s more an indictment of SDS inability to make a realistic game, where all types of player are viable, but have tangibly different skill sets with unique strengths and weaknesses. Instead of looking at that issue, they instead opted to unload a dearth of juiced versions of every single card in the game.
The reason why this is such a problem and caused me to quit the game after last year, is because there is no longer any incentive to play the game at all, much less buy stubs or invest time grinding. I used to play to unlock the cards I wanted, even when the gameplay left more than a little to be desired, because that was the entire point. To get that elite team. 6 billion 99 overalls in the marketplace all available for quick sell value has made that entirely obsolete. The fact that you can go all out to obtain 99 overall johnny whoever, investing time and stubs, only to be handed yet another 99 johnny overall whoever for free with slightly different stats, has ruined the point of grinding. The fact that the HOF level players they want you to grind for are made obsolete by free versions of modern day players who’ve yet to even play in the majors, has ruined the concept of spending time and money to obtain an elite team of valuable cards forever. DD is ruined. It’s now a case of loading up on juiced fake cards that have no relevance to actual baseball and playing the game. The problem with that is, the gameplay is not good. Never has been. The grind was what drew me in personally, watching streams to see who the latest new legend was and so on. Now it’s like who cares, every card has 125 everything anyway, none of them standout or play any differently, so they’re not worth the time and effort to obtain or even care about.
They tried offering me flash sales on MLB ‘21, gave it away free with XB game pass, I just don’t care about the game any more. I thought I’d really miss it given the thousands of hours I invested between ‘16 and ‘20, but it’s just become an absolutely garbage franchise and the reason is because they diluted the content so badly that nothing feels unique and failed to improve on the substandard gameplay experience, despite rereleasing the exact same game year after year. They couldn’t even iron out issues that had been recurrent for three consecutive years. Disgraceful and I can’t see myself coming back again for ‘22. SDS aren’t capable of making a high quality baseball game, they rely on spewing out fake juiced 99 overall versions of players that don’t deserve them to wow little kids and keep them playing. See ya.

Cheers Jay, I can be a little long winded, so most people don’t bother to read what I put on the forums. In a nutshell, why do we need multiple versions of every player anyway? There was only one Ken Griffey Jr, or Orel Hershiser and they were good. So good, they’d probably warrant a 99 overall card in MLB The Show. People would want that card and happily grind or pay real money as an alternative to grinding to obtain it. Then they’d have it.
I never had a problem with them having a rookie card that was only a 79 silver or a gold veteran card or whatever, as well as a 99 prime to encapsulate the greatness of their career as a whole, because it in no way changed the fact that you’d want the 99 prime because it was significantly different to any other version. I can’t really explain why we’d need a 98 overall and then two or three 99 overalls of the same player. It’s just stupid. Then you’ll get some ridiculous Topps now, POTM or finest card for a single season rookie at that same position that absolutely shits all over the best card of a legitimate legend like Larry Walker. And it’s probably 5k in the marketplace. I just can’t with this game any more, it’s beyond ridiculous.

And there he is, this guy has popped into the thread to spread his vitriol.
You're predictable and it's sad. The same weirdo that made a post about wanting to smash cheesers in the face with a hammer is calling me a whiner .
I hadn't posted on here in over a month lol. Yet here you are consistently miserable attacking anyone who says anything negative about the game or trying to pick on people for not being good at the game.
You're pathetic honestly, you scour these forums looking for any reason to jump on people. You're the White Knight nobody asked for. Just a miserable fart in the wind.
Chuck I really enjoyed speaking with you over the years, but the constant posts about how unhappy you are with the game - is it really necessary? I get @KILLERPRESENCE4 and these guys, they are just tired of hearing discontent over and over and over.
There are many who love the game, and I am one of many here. Does it need improvements - always and absolutely. To put so much negative energy and feelings into a videogame makes no sense - I am not ripping on you here just offering an objective perspective.
You know, if people don’t like certain post’s on the forum, there is this crazy method they can use, ignore and move on,Crazy right!?. I have never understood why people feel the need to give their opinion on someone else’s opinion.
I didn’t take dizzle’s post as being full of negative energy, he’s just airing his frustration at the direction of the game, and he is not wrong. I can’t ever remember when the game was in such a terrible state at this point in it’s life cycle, thats not very reassuring when it comes to next years game. Either way I am glad there are people enjoying the game, since the last patch I can’t say I have found much enjoyment from the game. I will however stand by my opinion that SDS has set the standard for how these ultimate team/team building modes should be with this years version of DD though.

They are all the same. Problem is in football, I'm not trying to hit a DeGrom 102 mph fastball. They need to figure out why 102 isn't 102 all the time. Not 95 some games and 120 some games. Match making with pings to the servers need to be much better even if it takes a few more minutes to find that match.

See ya.
You have to look at the flip side of this, not everyone can grind out dozens and dozens of hours to obtain specific cards. If it is something extremely rare like the Griffey or Mauer cards then fine, but I'm going to have to play devils advocate and say that I think the fact they put out SO much good content plays well for the overall client base. I remember up until 2018 after a few months online was literally the same exact lineup, give or take one or two guys. While it essentially is that way in todays game, they give you far more options to have a diverse lineup and still be competitive. All you see is people complain about DeGrom, the only way they can counter that is by putting new guys in the game who are just as good.

Agreed, I will praise SDS for how they have constructed DD this year. I almost feel like I have too many options.

Hey its awesome they made an extreme amount of 97-99 rated cards for diversity, but it never seems to matter as the majority of the herd will use many of the same cards.

That’s just the community though, I am personally loving the diversity, I just wish I could make more line ups. IMO if they removed things like outlier you would see a lot more diversity, that’s the one thing I see constantly when I venture online, the same 4-5 pitchers. I will say that this year off speed pitches feel more effective than ‘20 but outlier still rules the day online.
