I fully agree about a finest Buxton, he was insane in his 61 games, dont forget that Juan Soto played 47 games last year and got a fully juiced card

Polanco had the highest WAR and led the team in HRs. That would be my guess.Polonco has a diamond thats higher than buxton already, Buxton in terms on the show would be way more usable. Polonco would be sick, however how many people are going to use Polo over a possible FInest Tatis?

Yes he is lmao. Trout was having the best early season start of his career before he got hurt this year. When Ohtani puts up a 10 fWAR season, or even a 9, then he might have a case. Even with how well he pitched and hit this year, he still finished with 8.1 fWAR. That’s fantastic, but trout can get that and more easily in a full season. Plus it’s highly unlikely ohtani is able to keep up this level of offensive production and pitching value for very many years. He already has a history with injuries too. If either one of his pitching or his hitting falls off, he’ll be just another good player.

So is giving stats to players who haven't earned them, but that's where the game is at. I'm fairly certain I'm in the minority on this, so no telling what SDS pulls next year.

You do realize that Acuna in half as many seasons has more plate appearances more homers more RBI’s and a higher career BA than Buxton. All while playing elite defense in all three outfield positions. They (SDS) have more info to pull from when deciding whether to give him a high rated card. Just stop with the the what if’s. Buxton is a relatively unknown commodity because he can’t stay healthy. There really is no comparison between the two.

I have my CAP at catcher with Kirby Puckett’s swing/stance. I don’t really love any of the catchers.
Puckett’s swing is actually pretty glitchy on a taller player.

Was Shohei not the best player on his team this year and possibly all of baseball this year?
To be the best at something you have to have some sort of history to base that assessment against. Shohei had a great year but that is one year. Trouts has had great year after great year after great year. Trouts 8 war year 2 years ago was one of his lowest War years in his career and that’s what Shohei had this year. Trouts has been great for nearly 10 years. That’s what makes him the best in baseball. The body of work. Not one season. You’re making an argument for a guy that played 60 games. And that 60 game stretch was not as projectable as you may think. Buxton has never proved that the 60 game stretch he had this year was sustainable. He’s had spurts of brilliance followed by head scratching stretches of near mediocrity to just down right poor play. So until he can put together 162 games of Trout like production (a full healthy season) he’s going to be nothing more than a talented, injury riddled has been. And there’s nothing wrong with that, some people can’t handle the riggers of a full major league season. People really don’t understand what a grind a full season is. And many can’t physically handle it.
