Playing on a monitor
-
I know this might sound like a dumb question but I just need answered and I don’t know enough about this. If I wanted to play mlb the show on a monitor (and use my Xbox) and also use the monitor for photoshop and school related things would I need to buy a pc or would it work with just a monitor.

Well...you're not using photoshop or doing school related things on the Xbox, are you? Am I missing something here?

A monitor is just a screen, you would need a computer yes.

No, the console is the "computer".

Haha this dude is such a troll. Or are you just calling your PC/Laptop your console? Then practically all monitors these days have 2 or more inputs, so just use one of the HDMI port for your X-Box and for your PC use the other HDMI port or the Display port and simply just switch source between the two devices.

You can buy monitors that have more than one input and will switch depending on which input is active (or you can manually switch if you have more than one input active). I have a Gigabyte monitor that has PiP too...so I can have both inputs on the screen at the same time.
And yes...I have my PC and my PS5 connected to the same monitor. I don't know anything about XB but I can't imagine it running computer software...so yes, you need a computer.
