Well comparing HOF and soon to be HOFers to players that havent done jack is a big difference.

Its a video game so whatever floats your boat. More content the better

There is a difference in what they have accomplished in real life, but those cards still have a better chance of becoming reality than those lineups that the people who are complaining they are unrealistic!

I don't even understand the argument that you're trying to make. Why do they have a better chance of becoming reality than the lineups with HOFers or potential HOFers? What ever that means anyway.

I don’t hate future stats cards, they’re great marketing for baseball and the game... I think what most people don’t like is that Edward Cabrera is better than Pedro, Seaver, Gibson, Maddux and Feller... Hall of Farmer’s whom have dominated big league hitters...

    @dap1234567890 said in Two Questions:

There are many people on here calling FS cards "fake" and unrealistic because they "haven't proven themselves in the MLB", but they are the same people who run out a lineup that is full of HOFers (or soon-to-be-HOFers) all from different eras with attributes from their best years in the league.

How is that lineup not as "fake" as the FS cards?

How is that lineup more realistic than an FS card?

Reality is that the FS cards have a better probability of becoming more realistic than those lineups! Those lineups have ZERO chance of becoming a reality while the FS cards becoming a reality might be 1 in a million. As Lloyd Virgil Christmas once said (about those FS cards) "So you're telling me there's a chance!"

The argument has nothing to do with how realistic a lineup is. The problem most people have with FS cards is when they juice them and give them better attributes than a Hof player. Imagine someone who's never played a single big league game having a better card than someone like Griffey. That's unrealistic. I personally enjoy using FS sometimes, but I also think they are way better than they have any right to be.

With many of these legends in these lineups are dead, so there is definitely a zero chance of having these lineups become realistic, however there is still (however slight) a chance that these players in the FS cards become worthy at some point of those stats. Slight chance is greater than zero chance.

You’re basic argument is what is realism... Yes, these are fantasy card games, with fantasy lineups and fantasy cards... However, the main argument to that is other than future stars, who’s cards are based on a fantasy projection, the rest of the cards are based on a formula of realism or what they did.. So they juice the projections and have some of these guys have numbers better than HoFers and that’s why people don’t like them.

My issue with Future Stars was there were too many of them in last year's game. I actually made a post about it, this was in response to TA2 and a few FS headliners coming out

They did a much better job this year of cycling them through, instead of lineups consisting of almost all FS cards, you only see a few. Which wasn't the case last year after TA2.

I don't completely hate FS cards, but if you are someone who likes current or former players, it isn't the most fun at times. For some reason I grew up loving Bob Gibson, even though I was born 10 years after '68. The guy could absolutely dominate hitters and '68 was just a masterpiece. We have a Gibby Milestones card that is for 13 shutouts from the '68 season. I think you could reasonably argue that should be the best pitching card in this game. Yet, I think many would feel the Cabrera FS is a better card. Same thing with Maddux...the guy was a magician, yet most will not use it in RS.

You can do the same thing with Wander and current players like Tatis (before the move to the outfield). People were using 99 Wander's before he was called up...and it was a far superior card to a current superstar. You have a game where you are encouraged to use a prospect over the cover boy of the game.

I honestly think if we are going to have Future Stars like they currently are, we should have Back to the Future cards also. Those would be HOF's with cards made into what they might be today. Guys like Gibby would have outlier and Nolan would have a slider and/or cutter. Johnny Bench would have more power and Ernie Banks would have much more speed.

I was born ten years after the '68 season as well. Gibby and the Express would have so many more strikeouts in this new era of HR or K type hitters!

You're still missing the point. FS get hate because they are given juiced up cards they haven't earned that are better than literal hall of famers. Legends cards are based off of actual stats, while FS are based off of projections. That's the argument. Has nothing to do with realism of lineups

Huh? What realism are you talking about? Like them all playing together in real life? They've already put up the stats in their career, that's the point of the DD card for them.

Like I said, I don't have a problem with FS cards but I obviously made up projected stats aren't even close to as realistic as actual real stats.

    Still doesn't make sense.

If you can't figure it out, you are helpless!

Well that's a creative way to have a discussion.

Why don't you enlighten me and explain it to me like I'm 5?

How is a lineup of future stars more realistic than a lineup of HOFers? I honestly do not understand the argument you're making, in particular because you haven't actually made one.

And I don't have any issues with future star cards...

With many of these legends in these lineups are dead, so there is definitely a zero chance of having these lineups become realistic, however there is still (however slight) a chance that these players in the FS cards become worthy at some point of those stats. Slight chance is greater than zero chance.

Bruh not a single person cares how realistic a lineup is in this game. You clearly don't understand the argument here 😂

That is my point, they get all upset about how unreal the FS cards are, but not how unreal their lineups are! Which pretty much defeats their own argument of why they don't want to see FS cards!

Go back to the original post!

    Been there...

None of the lineups are real. It's a video game. This isn't an argument in favor of any side of this "apparent" debate.

You're still missing the point. FS get hate because they are given juiced up cards they haven't earned that are better than literal hall of famers. Legends cards are based off of actual stats, while FS are based off of projections. That's the argument. Has nothing to do with realism of lineups

No, I'm on point! You are just ignoring the point!

I'm not even sure you know what your point is. You're certainly struggling to articulate it.

    @dewrock_PSN
He's really not, you're just having a hard time understanding it.
All the HOFers in the game were not alive at the same point, therefore they could never be in the same lineup together.
Future Stars are all currently in the minors (some in majors) and therefore have a chance of being on the field together therefore making it more realistic.
There is you're 5 year old explanation
