interesting. Last year, the "Big Collection" Mike Trout award came out on July 28th. Honus came out July 25th the year before. There were no more big collections after those. If you time this up with the delayed release this year, it works out the be about the same timing. Some people out there are saying they don't think this is going to be the final collection like Trout and Honus....but the timing based on last year seems to indicate that to me. guess we'll find out in about 90 minutes.

It's going to be Jeter or Tatis Jr. I don't know why ppl keep saying Jeter will sell more copies? This isn't the early 2000's where if we saw a good cover artwork we bought the game. Besides if they want to use Jeter they can market him for 2022 version. Trout would sell copies and he has never been the cover boy. Jeter in the HOF now so they probably have his rights now.
If that is how it works, and they dont need to negotiate individually if they are in the HOF, then that does make sense on why they would release Jeter mid-season.
Not how it works. If it did work that way they would have most, if not all, of the 330+ MLB HoF'ers.
I assumed that was the case but was intrigued when I saw the post above. I wonder if they have the rights to HOF players that they choose not to put in the game? Like how many people would want a Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers, Frank Chance type HOFers?
Good question. I think they have to pay anyone not currently in the MLBPA and whatever deal they worked out with the minor leaguers. Minor leaguers do not have a union unless they are on a 40-man roster, in which case they would have the MLBPA.

I should be able to have Kershaw tonight when I get home
-
Kershaw is a huge letdown. I had hoped for Aaron. Don’t want another pitcher.
-
Does this mean Mookie Betts collection will no longer be available to complete?
-
Never mind. Mookie Collection is still there.

I like Kershaw but was a letdown but it seems the last two years this is how the Big Collection go. Trout was not who everyone wanted last year either and most were disappointed. I was hoping for Aaron, Ruth, Griffey, Gehrig or Mays.

Trout was an amazing card though so once everyone calmed down, they all loved him.
