Online mode is just not fun.

Call it a rant but this mode needs an overhaul. What I think it needs is a way to help out hitters. Maybe guess pitch option should be a thing? It is just too easy to pitch good and too hard to hit. Every game is just a complete guessing game grind fest that ends in bitterness when one player gets lucky enough to eke out a couple of garbage slap-hit seeing-eye hits or somehow hits a towering home run off a pitch nowhere near the zone. It comes down to whoever is luckier. Competitiveness is fine but we aren't pro baseball players and it is just too much of a grind. It's just not fun by its very design. And therefore ends up being a huge waste of time.
Also, to make things worse, why do I lose 8 straight yet have the same rating and still get mismatched over and over? I mean, come on.
Am I alone here? Or missing something that can actually make this anything other than an infuriating experience?

Ranked seasons above 700 has been the worst I’ve ever seen. Never thought I would prefer to play on all star. Events have been hit or miss (figuratively and literally). Battle Royale has been pretty good for the most part. Kind of sucks that the ultimate goal is to acquire cards for the best ranked season team and ranked is the worst mode, but whatever. It’s led me to discover other modes and have a blast in RTTS and BR. Plus, since I’ve been playing less, been discovering other games as well. Don’t get so locked into one mode that you get bored and frustrated, that was me up until a few years ago. This game has a lot to offer other then ranked.

Yeah I don't pretend to know what the fix is. But it really seems to be two offensive camps in online. Those people who hit any and everything, no matter where it's thrown and how good of a pitch it is, very very hard. Then the others just struggle to scrape together a few hits and hope for the seemingly lucky homer here and there. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground.
Not to mention that for every 10 games, you're pretty much guaranteed to face AS DeGrom about half the time.

Hall of fame is probably the best difficulty. Legend can be frustrating if you don’t adjust well but hof isn’t too bad with every pitch being fouled off and good players normally have a lot of high scoring games. This game plays terribly on all star. Non pci home runs and it’s impossible to strike anyone out with how big the vision pci is.

Only doing it to get challenge XP but what is the point of trying to get 10 XBH when just getting a single is a frustrating grind?

Yes, actually. You can adjust difficulty in online mode??
No. It's set by the game mode and ranked is dynamic. I'm not sure how it adjusts. Events will tell you what the difficulty is when you enter. I don't necessarily believe it's really the difficulty it says though. I can hit way better AS vs the CPU then AS in the events.

I'm not new at all to the franchise, just playing online.. And this is funny, seeing is all I do is lose and yet the rankings stays the same, lol.

I'm not new at all to the franchise, just playing online.. And this is funny, seeing is all I do is lose and yet the rankings stays the same, lol.
Not only that, but the sliders are not consistent across all modes. All Star on BR is on a different slider set than events, which is different from Ranked Season. Events tend to be offense oriented, RS is tighter, favors defense more. BR feels about right (though all depends on who you draft and where you play, may slightly favor offense).

I literally just brought in a reliever in an event game. His energy showed green. The opponent paused the game. When he unpaused, the reliever's energy was yellow. WTF.

If people can score 15+ runs on legend I’m sure anybody that plays the game a moderate amount can hit the ball hard on hall of fame. It’s like everything else in life. You have to put the time in to get better at the game. If you don’t like the idea of that or you’re not willing to do that, you can always do something else.

If people can score 15+ runs on legend I’m sure anybody that plays the game a moderate amount can hit the ball hard on hall of fame. It’s like everything else in life. You have to put the time in to get better at the game. If you don’t like the idea of that or you’re not willing to do that, you can always do something else.
This isn’t a game you’re just magically good at. Like anything else you have to play/practice to get better. I started online in 18 and wasn’t all that good but the more I played the better I got. Made WS the first time in 19, more consistently in 20, and this year I’ve made it every season and gone 12-0 for the first time this year and have done it twice more since. Like this guy said above, you have to put in effort to get better

LOL. From what I can see, everyone that can hit on legend is pretty close to an alleged server location. If so, that is not a coincidence.
