Multiple versions of the same player

The game has trended in this direction in the last few years, I feel like since 2018 which was the immortals version of the show.
I just want to say here, since it seems we are all buying into and accepting this, that I am not a fan of this approach.
I understand the need to parse out content throughout the season, but at present, there are just tons of cards that are not really appealing. I think it is tragic that the best Hank Aaron card in the game will not make anyone’s roster, but a Cedric Mullins might.
I may be just burnt out on the game, but the game content just seems stale to me, despite frequent updates and releases.
There should not be weak versions of cards like that 96 OVR Griffey jr just because it is only August. Fine. Save Griffey for later in the year, but the whole watered down cards leading up to the 99 approach is just disappointing in so many ways.

signed 97 Pujols as well, they cant even get his swing or # right..f'in novices in this studio

It’s not like the first Pujols was easy to get either. Wasn’t it from that USA map?

Yes, the Rookie Pujols was for fully completing the USA map.

Yea not a fan of the multiple player cards. Especially with parallel, just give me one dang version. 2k is by far the worse with this though. Was like 17 Lebron James in the game last year

This is what worries me. It seems we are moving more and more in that direction. Every legend card seems to get like three cards. Who knows where it will end?

If there was only one version of every player you guys would be complaining that there aren't enough cards, nothing to do.

I like the multiples...when they are for different teams. I'd like to see on EVO program of sorts... Get a 92 Breakout Griffey. When it's time for this 96, you can Evolve it and Upgrade. And again when his 99 comes out. Then you can cycle through which version you want to use if you're doing a Theme build or Event lineup or something. And of Course, stats and Parallels would carry over to the new version.

I wish they would get together a focus group and get suggestions from real players about how to best refresh the game. And I’m not talking about using content creators in the focus group either. Take a cross-section of players who log many hours online, off-line, Conquest play, showdown play, etc. make sure all the voices are heard. From there you may get some better improvement from year to year. I understand that it’s pretty complicated considering there are hundreds of players throughout baseball history that could be in the game and there are many different tastes. But if the community worked collectively To create a solution that made the game better, this game would takeoff even more so and prevent any future competition from taking market share.

The tough part about a singular card for a player, is that some players played and excelled for multiple teams. OK, Maddux would get a Braves card, as that was when he was at his best, even though he was great with the Cubs. Molitor on the other hand, would he get a Brewers or Blue Jays card (I'm even excluding the Twins)? Dave Winfield, Rickey Henderson, Nelson Cruz, Roger Clemens, type players that played well on a number of teams would only get one card for one team. That may not sit as well for a particular teams fanbase.
I do agree that they are over the top with the amount of versions they release. This was the one point against streamlining to one card, that I immediately thought of.

I love this idea. I like the "Gacha" aspect of this game but I would much prefer if I could level up a player that Ive had for a while to make him useable. I tend to get attached to my game character, whether it be The Show or an RPG game.
This is the main reason why I still have Tatis Jr in my lineup. Sure, there's better options, but he's my only parallel 4 card mainly because I pulled him from a regular pack early in the year.
I'm that dude rolling into the Elite 4 in the old Pokemon games with a level 99 Raticate evolved from the Rattata in first patch grass I walked into at Pallet Town. You guys know what I'm talking about, don't lie
