XBOX Advantage ????

Xbox users need every advantage they can get, they are playing on an inferior console.

I have stayed away from playing people online almost all season so far, for the reasons that I am sick and tired of the childish game play of so many people you play now. Not many want to play a straight up game anymore without the holding R2, bunt dancing, extended time outs, etc. What I have noticed now is that whenever I am playing someone that has xbox, (I have PS4), I don't care how far out or where I pitch any place any speed, they are always able to make crushing contact. Don't notice it when playing other PS players and no idea if the PS players are on 4 or 5. Just sick of the way this game plays anymore, with the base runners going back to previous bases instead of advancing on hit balls, lag of the players starting to move, etc.
I have both systems and I can tell you that the Xbox X controller is the real deal. I feel like I'm swinging a bat underwater on the PS5 compared to the Xbox. Never had trouble turning on a fastball on the Xbox. I think it is because the controller itself has some sort of Input lag reduction built in. Even wireless, it shits all over the PS5 controller when swinging the bat.
As with most things though, there is a downside. Pinpoint pitching is far more difficult to do on the Xbox and the the sticks themselves are uber sensitive. Sometimes that makes getting the PCI harder to get on the ball because you over correct.
You're not imagining it, it is far easier to get to a ball of any speed on the Xbox, and I think it all comes down to the controller.

Thanks for that input, now I know that I am not just crazy.......lol
Pinpoint pitching is so bad anyway that I just gave up on it. Seems like a majority of players also do not care for it. I can't even get my hands on a PS5 yet unless I pay a super high ransom. I paid extra for the game to be able to use it on a PS5 when I got one but it looks like that was a mistake. -
I have both nex gen systems and the game plays better on the Series X in my opinion. The only issue I ever have is throwing a splitter with PP. If I'm using a pitcher with a splitter I just use pure analog for the game. The Series X controller is absolutely superior to the ps5 in almost every way. The sticks are more crisp and fluid feeling by far. The input lag seems better although its hard to notice if you're facing a pitcher with lower velocity. And to me the PS5 controllers feel really cheap in comparison. I even recommend picking up an elite series 2 controller if you have the extra income. They are a game changer that takes it even further. The input lag is almost non existent. Maybe it comes down to preference for most people but there's a pretty noticable difference between the PS5 and Series X and their controllers.
-
I hope in 22 they simplify pinpoint. I liked how 2K use to do it where it made it easy for the user.
-
They don't need to simplify pinpoint. But they do need to rethink how to throw a splitter with pinpoint, because the controller glitch at the top (where the 12 would be on a clock) is so screwy and unreliable for both Xbox and PS.

How do you use pin point pitching? I seriously have so much trouble with it on the Xbox. It's ridiculous how much easier it is on the Ps5. If I could take the reaction of the Xbox X controller for batting and the control of the pin point pitching from the ps5, I'd be a happy man.

I guess that's why I have hard time turning on fastballs using zone plus analog stride on ps5. Can Sony do an update to reduce input lag on their controllers?

I only have issues with the Splitter. I'll either just use Pure Analog if I have a pitcher im using with a splitter or I'll use my Series 2 elite controller. Honestly depends on my mood

I imagine that's possible but you're probably better off looking into a third party controller( I recommend Scuf for PS)

Thank you for this thread. At game release I started on Series X and my son played on PS5. My timing was always "early", but I never connected it to XBOX. At the same time, pinpoint drove me crazy (especially splitters). However If I played on his PS5, pinpoint was perfect. A little over a month ago I was able to get a PS5 and I have been needing to sell my Series X.
Because of this thread, I bought a PowerA Fusion Pro 2 Controller for Series X last night. I wanted to see if a different controller would change my Series X experience. Pinpoint was perfect and everything just felt better. The little I got to play was night was without a doubt the most enjoyable the game has been on Series X and in a small sample size I think I would prefer it to PS5. I honestly couldn't say right now if the input lag is as good as the original Series X controller, but I do know that pinpoint is not an issue at all.

Maybe Xbox players that are still playing have got a lot better. Just a thought.

Inferior? How, pray tell? I have played on the PS4 since it first came out and switched back over for the new console generation (yes, I'm like the console war version of Benedict Arnold), and I have to say that Xbox has won the console war for this generation. Won it in two words...
backwards compatibility
Honestly, we console users should unite, join forces against those who claim that PC gaming is better than either of us, haha.
Also, some players, like me, have been playing MLBTS for years and have got the xbox version for the new console generation. So the advantage for some of us is years of experience gained on PlayStation.
