Does Showdown ever feel like sliders are altered?
-
Showdown's say they are on veteran but I am curious if that is just what they say and it's really on a different difficulty or there are sliders involved. My guess is the latter.
Pitching is a cakewalk and I never have trouble with those but some of the hitting moments are ridiculous. I'll get "good" swings right somewhere in the center of the PCI and they are ALWAYS lazy fly balls or infield popouts.... Legit almost every swing I have is "good" and I struggle to score runs.
Frustrating. Now I know why I never play Showdown....

Oh there are sliders all around.. yesterday I couldnt hit anything in Ranked today I made a guy quit in first inning of event

Yes. 100%.
Same for moments, conquest stronghold games, just about everything seems to need a different set of sliders. -

I don’t trust the CPU. I NEVER steal because I always think the CPU knows I’ve just pressed the button. So they know when to pitch out or pick.
But yesterday I gave it a go with Lou Brock with 99/99… i pressed the steal button and L1 to lead off. I was picked off by bad animation.
And that is why I’ll never try to steal again

The CPU never pitches out once the count is 2 balls or 2 strikes (0-2, 1-2, 2-2, 2-1, 3-1, 3-2). I usually wait to steal until then.
The bad jumps and pickoffs are a completely different story, lol.

I don’t think anything is altered, it’s just extra stressful. With moments you can insta restart and with the occasional exception they’re really easy. If you need a HR or 2 XBHs or whatever if you restart 2 or 3 or 4 times it still takes 2 minutes. Showdown is like moments that you can’t restart. Which is pretty horrible, especially in a baseball sim where a lot of RNG is involved.
I’ve managed to complete all the showdowns and most within the first couple tries, but it definitely sucks and isn’t fun at all.

I’ve been picked off by the cpu in 2 ball and two strike counts. It used to be the case that you could safely go in as my two ball count, but not anymore.

They wont pitch out though. I also said pickoffs and bad jumps are a different story, but I have never seen them pitch out once the count gets to either 2 balls or 2 strikes.

They will ABSOLUTELY pitch out on 0-2 and 1-2 counts, but not on 2-0, 2-1 and 2-2.
BTW there’s a way to avoid pickoffs at 1B… works 100% of the time.

News to me, I've never seen a pitch out in those counts. I will steal at 0-2, 1-2 all the time, and I have yet to see a pitchout.
