"Are you saying that the entire Showdown resets after failing a mission or one of the mini-boss showdowns? It looks like there are 3 mini-boss showdowns throughout that you cannot lose."
After the three losses, I paid the fee and lost on purpose in the first mission. It reset anyway... So any loss has reset me on this one. Never happened to me with past ones.
Isnt the first mission a mini-boss for this showdown? Maybe I'm remembering wrong...
Yes, the first "mission" is actually a mini-boss showdown. So if you lose it, you lose the entire showdown

You're not remembering wrong. The first one is a mini-boss; lose and you're out. I don't like showdowns, but this was a piece of cake.

I'll keep an eye out. I do think you are on to the fact that I was facing circumstances that I was not aware of.

There is no question that the number of mini bosses in this Showdown stinks.

Does anyone remember’17 Griffey program? It was pretty much all online and was hell to do. This year good cards have never been easier to obtain.

I never got him because I couldn't get the 4hits/1hr online with him. This is a prime example of why people hate dashboarding/online missions.

Lol yep….was going to say if people think dashboarding is bad now

Appreciate the advice. Kind of stinks it has to be done online, I actually haven't played this year online at all, though I've kept up quite well on offline stuff, collections, etc. I don't like playing online for multiple reasons, one which is I live in a 1900-built home that zaps Internet signal. As a result, at no fault of SDS, I'm left trying to hit teleporting balls, and needless to say that is impossible.
I'll shoot for the Ks... But I wish SDS would stick with their promise that you can play offline and still earn major rewards, as was advertised heavily prior to release. Unfortunately it does appear they are pushing everyone to play online once again and I fear I should expect more of the same in the second half here.
First, I want to address what you're saying about playing offline and earning major rewards. You can still do that, and I don't see how they are pushing everyone to play online any more than they always have (ranked, BR, event rewards). This keeps getting brought up and I don't get it. You may not like Showdown, or you may have a hard time with it, but it's there. You could 100% complete that program without playing a single game online (outside of always needing to be connected for DD to work). Showdown is just a string of moments with a fresh coat of paint. This isn't necessarily directed at you, but I find it absurd how many people have been up in arms recently because they chose not to complete the showdown, and therefore have to play online to make up the difference. It's just that. A choice. No one is being forced to play online. If Showdown is too difficult...just wait for moments extreme. SDS has been handing out diamonds like candy all year. I think they're allowed to make a few cards at least somewhat challenging to obtain.
Now that I said my peace on that (again, not directed at you but just the "I'm being forced to play online" complaints in general) you may want to look into a NetGear Powerline adapter. You connect one end to your router and it will send the signal through the electrical wiring in your house. The other end you just plug into an outlet near your console and hook the ethernet cable into it. It's not quite as good as hardwiring, but it's better than Wi-Fi, especially when the signal can't travel through some of the walls in your house. Of course, with a house that old who knows what quality of electrical wiring you're dealing with, but it may be worth a shot to give you a better experience online.
I had to get one of these at the start of the pandemic because the Wi-Fi was weak in my basement office and I had hours of video calls every day. I haven't tried it with console gaming, but it worked great for the video calls.

Offline, part-time gamer here. I've completed all moments and offline missions in the Field of Dreams program (including Ks with Felix) as well as the Conquest map. I'm now sitting at 98 points and if I don't play online modes, it appears the only remaining outlet is the showdown at 20 points. Going to be honest... I stink at these showdowns and do not much enjoy playing them. With this one though, it has reset on me 3x upon losing any mission, and I can't skip any missions to move further down (not that scoring 20 runs in a single mission would be managable for me). Essential that would mean I need to grind all 15 tasks, which I have tried and failed three times now as noted. All for two points.
There's got to be another way for me to earn the last two points for Clemente. Any other ideas? What am I missing?
You can use the free BR entries to draft 90+ CWS pitchers to get the 10 Ks. That only took me a few games. Surprisingly, I did ok for having a drafted crappy teams just to get the CWS Ks! It took 4 or 5 BR games to get it done.

It’s cruel of them to keep us two points away. Am I wrong to think that it was on purpose?
I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first, thinking that they just did the math for the points wrong... nope I guess

I think their intent from the beginning was for an offline player to need the showdown...or to play online. I don't think they were trying to be cruel or anything. I just think that when they drew up the program, they designed it with multiple paths that required multiple tasks.

SDS gave us a 100% offline method of getting the FoD rewards. Showdown is challenging, but not impossible.

Of course they did; there's nothing cruel about it. Play the [censored] showdown or 10 k's online, as that's what they want. Either that, or just forget about Clemente.

Hey, I hate showdown too, but you do what you have to do and I chose showdown.

I'll look into it. While my video is spotty at times, it has worked through the pandemic for me. I have an older version Netgear adapter that my brother was not using, but unfortunately it did not provide much of a boost. My son constantly plays Fortnite with little issue, and I've tried to reposition the PS4 but have limited options which prevent that hardwire connection. I've done speed tests and other things and will make clear, this is not on SDS at all. All drops and delays were during poor signal times.
Also, I like the overall changes to help meet the desires of offline gamers. I wasn't trying to go down that path... I will take 21 version over the challenges of 17 any day of the week. I just worry because I am a casual gamer who only gets to play a few hours at a time here and there, and going online to complete things simply is not realistic for me. Wasn't trying to start any online/offline turf wars here. Everyone should be able to play what they like, not focus on what they don't, and for the most part, SDS has made that possible. I do hope it continues, there's a larger offline contingency than people thought and I don't think people are earning offline to dominate online, which was the concern a half decade back when they started making changes. Just my two cents on that, whether or not anyone cares about one average Joe's thoughts.

I know they added 2 points to Jackie later on in the year, they may add a small moment or something like that later in the year.

10 Hits with Yankees or 10 K's with White Sox. Load up your offense with Yankees and Rotation and Bullpen with White Sox. Takes no time at all.
