He was #5 with the Cardinals not #55.
EDIT: Also he has a one handed follow through, not two handed.
He shows as 55 IN GAME and 5 on the menu screen

Have they ever had multiple character models for one guy? I remember noticing in either 19 or 20 that Goldschmidt was wearing #46 when it was a d-backs card. And they never match up Greinke’s shaggy dirtbag haircut to the correct eras either.

Oh yeah, all the time unless they just modify the one model. The rookie Pujols is much slimmer I noticed

Pretty sure they've had McCutchen cards with and without the dreads.
And I thought maybe some Griffey cards had different swings (maybe I'm mistaken)Otherwise it might be some like weight fluctuations between cards but I dont see any reason why a number or swing animation shouldnt be a rather easy adjustment.

They totally flubbed 97 Pujols swing animation, he looks like an infielder with a goofy looking 2 handed follow-thru. And they still haven't fixed his number. On the menu it's right, but the card in action still has 55. How hard is this to fix???

He's the coverboy and one of the most popular players of today. The pujols is a placeholder card to give more pujols cards in the game for some reason. It also gives us the 2nd half card because they really over priced the collections so they have to basically give us one or more of each set every release.
