Taking stat grinding missions a bit further. Now we only get a few dailies and monthly program stats. Those are very few however. Why not have more stat grinding missions that make you focus on utilizing golds, silvers, bronzes...and even a more fun challenge, common stat grinding.

For example, hit 30 XBH with commons or bronzes, or 30 HRs with silvers. The point of this is not just to have creative ways to create productive teams out of lesser cards, but to also make these cards relevant all season. I have a main team created, but I also have a 'grind' team with interchangable players and pitchers for dailies and similar missions.

SDS you did good with most of the FOD program and touched on this with having to get XBHs with Yankees, White Sox, Awards and Milestones...

MORE OF THIS...and less (edit NO showdowns)

So since people can't win Show downs lets create something else. So when people don't like that something else, let's create something else again..

So it shows that we are never happy with something and we want something else. So after all complaints MLB the Show should give all cards free and free packs of diamonds.

PS Showdowns are way easier this year

I wouldn’t mind seeing some stat grinds that are a little longer. Just find some middle ground between what we have now and the immortal grinds in 18. Those were a bit much.

This is what Moments replaced. Back in 18 and prior, most programs included stat missions with certain players or type of player cards. In 18, they went way over board with it and we had just insane amounts of stat grinds, I mean crazy insane, ie 1,000 Saves with closers, 5,000 IP with SP, 500 Hits, 250 Doubles (not XBH, you had to get just a double). Then there were some where you had to get insane stats with specific players in a single game, ie 3 hits, 2 doubles in a single game.

It turned a lot of people off, like me. We quit playing half way through the year because it was just too much of a grind and took away from playing the game how you wanted. You would play vs CPU on rookie over and over and over and over and over and over...you get the point.

So in response to that negative feedback, SDS created Moments. I personally would take these moments over those crazy stat grinds. However, I do think they’ve swung too far the other way. There’s a balance somewhere out there where they should be able to do stats instead of constant moments, just not the crazy amounts like 18.

Yeah I'm not saying 1000 saves with closers or anything crazy like that though. More reasonable and varied stat grinds per month. Anything is better than Showdown

    I say NO!!!

Seriously, forcing you to do a long stat grinds with bronze and silver players you do not even want in your lineup while your better cards sit on the bench is why I quit The Show 18 after only 50 hours. Those stat grinds are especially awful when you only play offline because then you have to get (usually) 50% more of the desired stat.

I actually like showdowns and moments (the core of the ideas behind the modes). What I don't like is how wacky they play, and also completely differently from vs CPU, conquest games, and then how different it is again to face a human being online. If you play all these modes in one day it can be pretty baffling to lock the timing down.

I would hate to see massive mindless stat grinds, especially because hitting with a mission card over and over again gets pretty dreadful if a slump starts. Much better to curse through moments and showdowns with some reasonable stat grinding, but I would love to see some more consistency in play between the modes to allow for some development of timing.

    I say YES lol

Why does everyone keep assuming I said long. 30-50 stats is not long at all

In 18 they had monthly programs with this kind of idea. Hit 30 HR with rookies, 115 RBI with veterans and so forth. They were great. 18 went overboard with stat grinds, but the answer wasn't to get rid of them altogether.

Also, that doesn't mean showdown ir whatever couldn't still be there, it would just give the player more paths to complete things.

I’d like another conquest map to replace the showdown, or at least be an alternative to the showdown.

Since Clemente is the final reward for that, perhaps a conquest map in the shape of his number 21? Or a conquest version of that MLB logo corn maize that they have next to the field in Iowa.

Get it? Corn maize? I know, it’s a terribly CORNY joke. 😂🌽

I don’t want to see insane stat grinds but mixing things up every now and then would be nice, so maybe one program requires a showdown, have another require some REASONABLE stat grinds.
