Personally, I would rather have to get 1000 hits with Brooks Robinson than play showdown.

OMG, I want to hurl that card in the ocean.
8 hits with that [censored] will take 80 games.
EDIT: Forgot mub backwards is a bad word in the UK....but this isn't the UK...🤔

haha yes! That's what I mean, I am struggling to get hits with him too but at least the stats are counting up and eventually I would get to 1000. This FOD showdown keeps restarting on me somewhere during the journey to the last boss so I can't clear it.

    Plus it's showdown...

So here we go try number 3. I fail the lefty grove boss and it’s over?

Is this how it works? It keeps resetting me back to draft after failing that.

Stupid piazza celebrated a pretty shallow fly with a runner on 3rd, he was jumping up and down with excitement as my 62 speed player took his sweet time to get thrown out at the plate.

    And back to draft.

Personally, I would rather have to get 1000 hits with Brooks Robinson than play showdown.

5 event wins gets you 16 points and its repeatable - that's my path and all the missions and some of the moments

Yea, I'm not wasting my time to get those 2 cards (Felix and Clemente). I'm probably done with this game for the year since Madden comes out today. I'm not beating my head against the wall in Showdown. And for the trolls...yes I know, I'm not the best player, and I'm fine with that. So keep your "Get good" comments to yourself.

I'm actually kind of looking forward to the extreme moments. I feel like I've gotten pretty good at moments this year and in the past I've always quit playing before they dropped that program, so I'm curious to see just how good I really am.

5 event wins which is repeatable. Easier to stat grind and less stressful than Showdown, plus you can apply stats to other programs....I'd advise going that route.

Showdown isnt requried unless you dont play online so i just skipped it. You cant get missions done doing it so I didnt see the value.

Did moments for 28 pts, Conquest for 20 while using Henke for Ks which helped for two missions (Sig and Prime Ks) and filled lineup with Awards/Milestone guys and Yankees/Sox. Was around 70-75 Points after conquest, dont remember the exact number but filled my lineup with Yankees/White Sox and got the rest of the missions with 5 Event wins. Was at 97 after that but got Felix and just did his mission on a quick rookie game offline to finish.

For people that arent great online (like me) I think you will be surprised that 5 wins isnt that bad. People sometimes quit when they get behind and if you punt your first match, you will get easier matchups the next 2/3 games.

I agree. Showdown is needlessly frustrating. I’m young but that stuff will give me high blood pressure, it’s just that bad.

They’ve never required showdown in previous programs in MLB 20 (which, as an offline player, I was thankful for) and didn’t require them in MLB 21’s programs until this one. This is what irks me. Why of all programs do we need to do a showdown when we hadn’t needed to previously? Why the change? It boggles the mind.

Maybe I'm an outlier but I haven't had issues with any Showdowns this year. Most I complete with a 100% success rate.

My first two times I did the showdown I lost on the third boss. My third attempt I got to Felix down 12-20.

Holy baby Jesus Felix was sooooooo easy. Like wtf. This showdown was the hardest this year but the main boss was beyond easy. Had 19 outs left

IIRC they required showdown in the Extreme content last year if you wanted the three rewards (Yelich was one of them, can't remember the main reward)

True, I forgot to mention that. But that’s the Extreme program, where requiring showdown makes sense. Other than extreme they didn’t require showdown for programs before.
