I am so done with PCI BS

PCI is screwing me, good or perfect timing and ball in is the center of the PCI gives me a fly out with 100+ contact batter. Meanwhile, my opponent PCI is not even close to the ball like a small inch off the top, no-doubter. This happens every game that I play on Events. I feel like I have to bargain for a hit rather it being rewarding.

Your opponents pci isn't shown to you properly. What you see and what he sees are two different things. Just play a friend and compare and you will see that looking at your opponents PCI is pointless

Not 100% true. I watched two twitch streamers (Zo and OhChev) and I had both screens up on my PC. I watched every pitch and their PCI placement showed exactly where they moved it to during their swing.
There may be cases where it didn't work like that, but I've seen this multiple times and it showed correctly.

Can't stand when people defend this saying that pci isn't shown properly. Then either make it work right or remove the feature.
Either way I get that alot. Weak contact on good or decent pci placement and my opponent is hitting bombs on sliders out of the zone with the ball not even touching the pci.

Regardless of wether or not the PCI is shown properly way to many fat pitches hit with good or perfect timing end up being easy outs while a pitch at someone’s toes is drilled over the opposite field wall. Patience and good pitch selection simply is never rewarded in this game.

It hasnt been rewarded in about 2 years, every time you press a button to swing you’re essentially pulling the arm of the RNG slot machine. Just become a member of the church of RNGesus, pray enough and he might come save you.

Events are hard to judge though fwiw as they seem to adjust the sliders quite a bit. Typically when I see “bad contact” HRs it’s when the opponent has gotten a few hits leading up to it and pitcher confidence is down. This drives me nuts. These are professionals and their confidence is not impacted by a couple a singles. Yet as soon as that happens you better get your pitchers [censored] out of there as it’s inevitable they give up a HR it seems sometimes. Let alone if one goes out then the wheels totally come off it seems.

why do people still think that good or perfect placement should be a hit every time when all it means is u were not late or early if your BA. is over .300 and you have had at least 75 at bats your getting the proper amount of hit its a sport you are expeted to fail 7.5 out of 10 times with 6 k and if your 2 hits are first pitch contact homeruns get over it
just because you can green 1000000 shots in a row a nba2k and make them dose not mean you should be a .700 hitter in baseball

I just had a ranked game I had 15 outs with 12+ pci rating. IN THE ZONE not outside it. My opponent had a bomb go out on 10 PCI outside the zone.. Like I was ready to mash my controller. The hitting in this game is COMPLETELY random. SDS is shady as [censored] saying we have any control over it.

5 of 9 hits for this dude looked like this. Absolutrly pathetic. But perfect and good is a fould ball for me. What has happened to this game.

At the end of the day, what does the PCI represent? Does it represent Bat and Barrel placement or does it represent the zone you are swinging in? No one at SDS has the common courtesy to explain exactly how it actually works. It's like they leave tutorials and game direction up to the YouTubers and Streamers. Does anyone have the exact explanation? People wouldn't complain so much if there was an actual SDS tutorial but there isn't. The only explanations you get are all educated guesses based on gamer experience and game skill. It's always been this way it seems so I guess don't expect it change anytime soon.

They have discussed it prior to launch within last 5 years, search SDS's youtube channel and watch pre-launch videos it's in there. I wanna say 3 years ago but search last 5 just to be safe. They actually went in depth about it.

I hate this comparison to real life. In real life a player is failing 7.5 out of 10 times because they didn't make good contact with the ball (i.e, not G/G, P/P).

If your opponent cracks a P/P, check the feedback. It will surely show the PCI right on the ball. Why wouldn't it be accurate the rest of the time? I think the 'feedback isn't accurate' line is just a way of deflecting from HRs that come off weird contact, which might be difficult to explain. Maybe there's a 2D vs 3D explanation that's hard to represent visually on a flat screen, but I don't want to suggest reasonable explanations for representations of non-barreled balls leaving the ballpark.
-
To me, the PCI should be used as a means to adjust your approach and to analyze your opponent. If I play one more game where a sinker barely touches the outside ring of my PCI and is popped up only to have a ball on the outer ring on my inside PCI to be a fly weak fly out, I am going to go insane. The more I play the game the more I realize that I know exactly what someone is going to do and still cannot stop it or counter it.

What about when you crack a Perfect-Perfect and it's foul by well over 10 feet?
Game is wack.

Well, sure, but the feedback probably shows a square hit. Most of my P/Ps are outs so was just talking about the feedback screen, not the bleep results

I don’t think anyone thinks that. I understand not every well timed contact on a ball down the middle should be a hit. The point is way too many of them aren’t. Let’s face it I’m the major leagues if a pitcher floats a pitch right down Broadway most major league hitters, especially the stars most everyone has on their Diamond dynasty squad, if they square that up and time it good they are depositing that ball over the wall or ripping it for extra bases. Not weakly grounding out to short or an easy routine fly out. On the flip side too many unrealistic hits, especially home runs cone off pitches thrown in bad locations and lucky PCI placement. That’s what everyone complains about.

My pci is bad because I keep changing my starting position trying to find the sweet spot. Oh. And I’m trash. HTH

I know this is maybe the worse advice ever given on this forum but since I was so done, I decided to turn off PCI or fade away all with Zone and it turns out that I actually hit the ball much better. You just have to remember your PCI position and visualize it. If you want to try it, do it and see if it can help.
