If you never played the show prior to 18 and 19 then you have nothing to compare it to. The last two years were a joke pitch speed wise. Everybody could pick up a controller and not be late on a fastball but still wait on off speed. Pitch speeds are completely fine, if you can't catch up to a fastball it is a skill issue.
You probably didn't play the game at a high level if you think the pitch speeds in the show 19 were a joke.
Only the elite players could catch up to the high sinker cheese. The game on legend wasn't fun at all because of that.

Wasn’t last patch just an adjustment to the pitch speed slider? That’s how I interpreted it and that’s not a DD change.
That would essentially make fastballs seem faster though if the speed ratio is greater.
“Pitch speed slider has more range” doesn’t sound like a universal change to me. That sounds like they added the option for those who play offline to make pitch speeds more realistic if they desire to.

I know I'm just an average player and I'm fine with that. But playing all star or lower should not be impossible for a player of my skills (a little over. 500). Playing above all star is where the elite of the elite thrive and shine but for your average Joe that wants to play and have a good but not impossible challenge all star should be hard but not impossible. If your a great player you will be above that anyhow.

Well last year everyone used the same pitchers so picking up on them was easy. This year it’s kluber and Oswalt. Then you pick and choose. I’ve face gerrit cole once and sale once. It’s either kluber, Oswalt maddux

This man is right. 18s pitch speeds were laughably slow. Believe someone did a comparison from 17 to 18 of Aroldis Chapmans 4sm. 99 mph in 17, 99 mph in 18. However when split frame by frame they found out that in 18 Chapmans 99 mph 4sm was the equivalent of an 88 mph 4sm from 17 frame by frame.

It was a universal change but imo they didn't change the fastball speed. They added greater gap of fastball timing and offspeed timing to create more strikeouts. Timing window decreased for fastballs while remaining the same for offspeed.

They did not change the timing between difference types of pitches as much as they changed the amount of reaction time to get to the fastball. It's too quick on anything all star and below

It’s really not that hard to hit a fastball if you’re sitting on it. It could be the screen you’re using though. If you have a tv it often has input delay unless it’s on game mode. That input delay puts you a little bit behind what is actually being processed, so it makes a lot of things seem faster. Last year when I switched to a monitor from a tv it made a huge difference in my timing. I no longer had to sit dead red the entire time and could easily adjust to different pitches. It helped me go from DS to WS in a matter of a week or two.

Yeah I didn’t mean to say that they’re the same as before, but the only increase was in the slight 1/4th increase of each difficulty more than it was a pitch speed buff.

Please don't compare any pitch speeds to 18, nobody likes slow pitch. Pitch speeds are fine on all star, it's not supposed to be an easy game.

Then make hall of fame. It wasn't slow before it was still difficult then. There was nothing wrong with it. If it was so slow for you then you should be good enough to make a higher difficulty.

I disagree. This is my 3rd year playing and fastballs have always been hard to hit but now irs laughable. There is no comparison to 18 and 19.
The thing is, even if pitch speeds are a little too high, the game is in a good place after 1.05. I’m terrified that if the community does too much more complaining, SDS will do another crazy patch and make the game less enjoyable. This is basically what happened from 1.03 to 1.04.
That’s what happens every year. Just play the game man. Nobody’s going undefeated and everybody getting the same results. Go down you’ll always be able to come back. Eventually it’ll be unplayable for the people who like it
