You guys realize if you go to direction hitting hold up and power swing the moment is effortless...

This is the correct answer. I always do this when I have to do a moment with a guy whose swing i dont like.

It is frustrating, but I kind of get it. Case in point, last night I hit well on HOF ranked seasons. Timing was good. Then hop into Brad Miller’s moment on “rookie” and I cannot time Alozay’s fastball whatsoever.

but this isnt a solution to the problem the OP has. yes direction hitting would possibly ease the frustration but the core problem is a difficulty not being the same experience throughout the different game modes but, along with many other problems in this game it will never be addressed unless it hurts the bottom line.

I agree with the OP. I never said it was a solution. Directional is more of a workaround so you dont have to spend an hour on 1 moment. Lord knows they wont make the difficulties the same in every mode if they havent done it by now.

You mean like the TA3 showdown when I need one run. Get a runner on base that I need to move over. Proceed to hit 3 bunt popups to end the round and lose?

EDIT: 3 minutes after typing this happened again. Ball is basically in the dirt but somehow bunt a high fly ball to the 1st basemen and get doubled up

I’ve used the directional stick up approach now and then. It does seem to work well for XBH and HR moments.

I’m more just addressing the deception/arrogance involved in making moments harder. I’d probably be better off with a take it or leave approach to the game, as you guys are probably right in saying they’d have done it by now if they were going to make the game consistent across modes.

I’m just struck by how glaringly obvious it is when I log in to do a moment after having a few days break from playing.

It bugs me that the most efficient way to complete many moments actually makes me a worse hitter in the game’s more competitive modes.

Yeah I quit trying to bunt guys over about a week into the game. I personally can't sac bunt with hardly any success at all against the computer... pop ups or double plays. Bunting for hits with the speed guys is a little different.

I’m getting tired of this. If moments need to be more challenging, could we please just have them on a higher difficulty?

The whole idea of saying it is on a certain difficulty then adjusting cpu pitch speed and human contact sliders (or whatever tf is being tweaked) is just dishonest and annoying.

Sure, we will eventually succeed by doing it enough times, or we can choose not to do moments, but I don’t think it is too much to ask to have the game play consistently from mode to mode.

If I go to custom practice vs a given pitcher on a certain difficulty, I expect the pci size, pitch speed, timing window, etc to be the same as when I face that pitcher in a moment on that same difficulty.

Why is it ok (or even necessary) to lie about this stuff?

I think of it the same way as the DDA in Madden. If they make it too easy, you won't have 'fun'. If they make it too hard, it won't be 'fun'. So they try to engage the player by f-ing with them.

All I'm thinking is the posts about Gerhig and Yelich last year in moments extreme. It seems they took moments extreme and used those sliders on normal moments this year
