    WTF is up with hitting in this year's game?

    In year's past I always went between Veteran and All Star for my hitting difficulty and had decent results (about 4-5 runs a game). This year I started on All Star but the last couple weeks I can't hit anything even on Rookie.

    I use timing hitting and I've timed so many pitches well that end up being a pop up or a grounder.

    Has anyone else had trouble hitting this year or am I just in a major slump?

    IMO Hitting on Rookie Difficulty has the most game RNG. Also the PCI is so big thus making it more difficult to squared pitches. I only play on Rookie and change to Casual vs the CPU and it is easier to parallel your players. However any other mode such as RTTS, MTO or Conquest stay away from Rookie difficulty.

    It's because computer pitching paints the edge of the zone and the rookie pci can't reach it well enough for good contact. The biggest difference this year is with cpu pitching. Previous years saw lots of pitches over the middle on rookie and veteran. This year not so much. At least on veteran and above you can reach the edge.

    I started on rookie because I'm a first year player. After a week or so moved to veteran stayed there for a bit. Made it to all star and took a while to get decent at it! Since they chopped xp in half Ive been doing veteran again to score more runs and more xp hopefully... but I still barely get 1 or 2 runs a game against cpu in conquest at times... today just for fun to complete the 4 th of July as fast as I could I thought I'd try rookie, omg big mistake had to play two extra innings in one game to finally get some runs. Others played on veteran and no problem to score in 3 innings if not a blast on first pitch of the game lol honestly I think all star is the best but it also depends on the day 😉

    I never knew this, I've always been a Rookie difficulty junkie. Should I play on Veteran during conquest games?

    I enjoy the game (MLB and TheShow), never been much on 'challenge' gameplay. All last year I played on rookie, this year mostly on Veteran. Personally, for me, it's easier and a lot more enjoyable.

    I agree. In the beginning when player programs had a game on AS I was like oh no. But have not lost one of them. Hitting is easier on vet and AS for sure.

    Only rookie that plays like rookie is play now. I can put 20-25 on the board vs the rockies or O’s easily. But play them on rookie in conquest and suddenly it’s like moments where they barely give you a pitch to hit and the RNG gets heavily applied.
    Play conquest on vet or AS and things feel back to normal.

    No idea why rookie feels broken in moments or conquest but it does.

    For me, games on rookie in conquest usually go like this;

    Starter suppresses your bat and you get hits but they go nowhere. He finally tires and in the 3rd you hit 2 solo homers or scrape two doubles together and walk out with a 2 or 3 to 0 win.

    Or you hit a solo homer with your pci off the ball and then get maybe 1 more hit and end up winning 1-0.

    It does not feel like rookie where you are supposed to have longer timing windows and easier pitches to hit.

    Always rookie AI plays insane defense.
