Why is Rain an option
-
Can someone please explain to me why you would ever decide to play a game in the rain? Every time I get a rain game the game plays awful. I believe it makes the game extra laggy. I just don’t get it.

Just played someone I got a base hit and he paused for next 2 minutes… what a pleasant time online

People use it for the exact reason you mentioned, slow down frame rate, seemed to be a prob on last gen of consoles, not sure how or if it has an effect on the next gen consoles.
-
That’s what I thought, so the next question is why is it an option in competitive modes.

same with glare. just pick day or night. ridiculous that they allow it
-
Some people take Rain dancing a little too seriously .
-
Just make all competitive games played in Tropicana and call it a day.

The worst is stadiums that, depending on the time of day, backdrops, etc. make it near impossible to pick up the ball until it's half way to the plate. Don't know if that's intentional "controls" coded into the game to amp up the difficulty, or just how the batting experience might be. If it's more programmed difficulty control I wonder if my opponent is having the same experience when he bats. Maybe.
Regardless, it's a pain in the [censored]..and not necessary. In fact, should be followed up on and addressed. But, again, this could take some time and effort.

Back in the show 17 when I had almost the entire lineup of 2008 WS champ Phillies I would choose to play at The Bank in October in the rain to simulate game 5 of the WS clincher.
It is super annoying in RTTS how it rains almost every other game it seems like
