What happened to sportsmanship?
-
People’s ego can not handle losing in a video game. Plus, people are very comfortable being dbags behind a keyboard and saying things they would never have the courage to say in person.
-
It’s as toxic as ever. For years I left my messages open but this year finally turned them off to avoid obnoxious idiots sending me messages during and after a game
-
Unfortunately common courtesy checked out years ago. It’s not just in the game either.
-
People are dbags. If someone sends a gg, respond like a man.
-
I've had many beatings and I've earned that even when you give people props it's some scathing response that's completely out of line. I just don't send anything anymore. It's easier that way because I don't want to be that guy getting upset losing a video game.

After every game I send a “GG” to my opponent - win or lose. I have done this since I started playing online sports games 15 years ago. It used to be most people were good sports & sent the GG without hesitation. I probably only get a GG back in 1 out of 10 games nowadays. The rest of the time it is just nasty scathing comments - Even from guys that won…I play straight up, No shenanigans (bunt dancing, time winding, ect). I just think it’s sad that the world has become this bad that people can’t exchange pleasantries or a show of respect after a game.
You failed abortion .... You sukc, it's the rng ... How much this team cost ya with your mom credit card ? Tell your mom papa is coming home tonight (my favorite)

That's awesome thst you do that.. I'llsg after great games as well... Most have chats disabled...

One reason is that some have turned off messages in game due to the nonsense that gets sent across those messages, much of which has been discussed on this forum.
-
I mean if you beat your opponent by 10+ runs and then you send a GG after that is kinda of rubbing it in. Now if the game was close the whole game and one of you walks it off late in extra innings then yeah I guess GG to you.
-
I wish between innings and at the end of games you could send quick chats just rocket league does - GG, well played, close one! Etc
I turned off messages from strangers because nothing ever comes good of it.
When you mention your 1 in 10 replies back I would probably counter that with 1 in 10 messages from strangers would be positive!
