Best catcher in the game?
-
As a Mets fan I use Piazza. I had pulled Santana from a pack but sold him......I have everybody live series player, I don't see.a lot in Weiters as far as his hitting stats...who do you guys think is the best C in the game, with an emphasis on hitting?

Jorge Jorge Jorge
-
I second Jorge with Torre coming in 2nd.
I do feel it depends what difficulty one plays on though

I don’t have Santana, but I’ve run pretty much everyone else out there. I like Adley for the defense and Switch hitter w/ decent stats to both sides. Huff, and Torre would be the other two I would consider. My RS games tend to be low scoring so I also prioritize good defense as a wild pitch or noodle arm can be crippling.

I know his numbers aren’t the best but Rutschman has been a machine for me this year.
-
Sam Huff? He should be, but like piazza his ratings don't match what he should do. Rutschman is the opposite. His ratings lie and he rakes.
-
Definitely Santana. The dude has great hitting stats against both sides and is a switch hitter with a great stance and swing. Also isn’t the slowest with his speed in the 50s and has a very serviceable arm in the low to mid 80s

Haven’t used Santana
Best of the rest for me is Torre.
Posada lacks pop and his arm is pretty weak.
-
I hit really well with Jimmie Foxx. Havent tried posada yet though.

Aside from the speed and the average arm, Piazza is super balanced on offense and I've honestly ran him at catcher 90% of the time since I got him week 1

Santana is nice, but his swing is an acquired taste. If you find yourself "perfect" or late of good a lot, you will see more benefits from his more balanced swing. Piazza is the pull hitter's dream. Rewarded much more often on early outside sliders and if you can turn on inside fastballs, they'll almost always go over. It's nice to see a priority put on catchers this year because last year was pretty much "Joe Torre, CAP or a live series card" for the first few months of the game.
In short, the two catchers named here are great compliments to both types of swingers. Pick yours based on your swings.

I absolutely love Sam Huff. I know his swing is a bit awkward but once you get the hang of it, he hits lasers to right center. His defense is also top notch.
