What year of The Show...

was it when Diamond Dynasty had the generic name players that you combined with another card? Cpu Cards had like 20 game limit on em. MLB Cards were o er priced and worthless, as they could only be used for 10 games and ya have to buy another
Anyways, i miss that year
-
Those were the first years on DD and I believe it was TS12
-
I wish they had a mode that played like that but it won’t happen. You would have to spends stubs to train your players. I remember diamonds had higher ceilings so it would cost more to fully upgrade him. Pitchers were like 100M stubs to fully upgrade (the stubs system wasn’t at all the same as it is now)
I miss those days too

That sounds terrible. I doubt I'd still be playing this game if I had discovered DD back then.

It was groundbreaking for it’s time. The very first Ultimate Team in a MLB title. Was alot of fun back then.
Albert Pujols was a 99 back then lol

They threw you a lot of stubs. Upgrades in the upper tier were tough. But it forced you to really pick and choose line ups. It also forced you to use a lot of different cards. It wasn’t what it is now. And you did not get new shinny cards. You got your team rosters and that was it. No inside edge

2012 (First year of DD) and 2013

Yeah I played it extensively. Players careers were 30/35/40 games. You randomly got bronze/silver/gold/diamond players from packs and they all came with their individual ceilings. Pitchers came with their stock set of pitches but you could “buy” extra pitches. If I remember correctly, playing a game would give you around 5M stubs or something along those lines

Was actually more like 100K per player. I miss those days as well... I'm one of the few that enjoyed creating each player on my roster every 40 games.
This is before anyone wanted to or even thought about playing the market. I actually had well over 200 Million Stubs at any given time and would just make a whole new squad of fully maxed 99 CAPS every 40 games... Good times!
-
That got expensive to build them and to loose after their max games expired...
-
I also remember this forum being really friendly except for some Cry Baby Twins/Vikings guy that would argue with his own shadow and a dude BoSox that would cry about being a poor player every single day...

It was for the hardcore baseball sim players. You really had to enjoy the game to do all that. I for one really did. I also didn’t put in nearly the amount of time I do now into the game. I can’t say these early renditions were the best, they just were simpler times and the game played well for what it was

You're from that time too... Good to see DD OG's still around

Played great except for that old Catcher Freeze (I'm sure you remember) lol

This was the intro video that did me in...
I never touched RTTS again until this year. -
2015 was the year they abandoned contracts, and removed all created players resulting in a single CAP and then actual MLB players with 1 MLB legend per team.

If that’s the case then it would be 12TS (they did a switcheroo on the placement of the year in the name starting with 16)
