I mean, honestly, this post is just a great summary of why I'm avoiding online right now (and I'm nowhere near playing high ranked but even at my level, don't want to deal with these kinds of issues when trying to have some fun).
These are horror stories. I have played probably 120 ranked, 150 events and 100 BR amd never see any 9f this nonsense. Yes it happens but its very rare. If you run into this then just move on. Most people play with dignity. I just don't see how playing a computer program is gratifying. My point is that you should play online if you want to be competitive against other humans.
agreed tbh. I've played a handful of ranked, event, & br games over the years and this is a first. I'm not mad or anything, just think it's funny that people will do this to try and get wins and wasn't sure if there was any way it could be prevented, i.e. in game bug abuse reports

After the game you can go into your game history and report him but you have to wait till the games over.

I do prefer playing online. I played 500 ranked games last year (200-300 or so). What's a shame is that my only complete games were the losses. If I scored a couple early, that was it, that was my win, but if I got scored on early I was hanging around rather than quitting. This year I'm only 14-11 but the R2 issues with PPP affected my last few games online, and I also had several freeze-offs in Events games, so I decided to take a break. It's not too big of a deal for me. Highest I got last year was Wildcard so I'm not missing out on much and I really would prefer to play some solid games without opponents abandoning ship or spamming my pitches and that's what several games this year were like already.

Currently up 2-0 on a guy that it shows he's using Corbin Burnes, but he's really using Valenzuela - yes, it's glitching out of a non-existent lefty arm slot. He ended up getting the game to freeze and messaged me saying he 'needs World Series' so he won't quit
Is there a way to report players for in-game bug abuse??
I'm not really sure that qualifies as abuse though. I don't think there's any way you can make the game do that intentionally.

If you give a 2 second wait before you pitch you won't get rid. You only get caught 9n that of you pitch really quick. I have been caught and 8 just slowed down a bit. Also if you start your pitch and see the r2 red sign just let go and restart when its ready. He can only hold r2 once or twice per pitch. I use r2 to see my pitchers confidence, stamina and pitch confidences. Not everyone is a cheese. But yes every pitch would be cheese

that makes sense, most likely a visual glitch then. I sent him a screenshot of Corbin pitching after he said he was using Valenzuela and then offered him a friendly to which he declined. put up 2 runs on a buxton HR the next inning followed by the freeze off after. I'm not pressing for WS right now & he is, so im big chilling

Oh, yeah if you sent him a message and he knew what was happening it's kinda shitty. I would've accepted the FQ. Where's the fun in playing if you know you have an unfair advantage?

for real lol. thankfully it wasn't some flamethrower. wouldn't have touched the ball. even on HOF I at least had time to react to valenzuelas pitches coming out of the abyss bc they're slow

Waited several seconds for the R2 warning to stop flashing. Selected pitch. Happens again. Started drawing the shape. Happens again. So I'm not sure what's going on but the R2 pressers are getting an awful lot of leeway from the game code (if they're not supposed to be able to press it that much). I know not everyone is a cheeser but honestly the last few games I played online were heavy on the R2 flicking and I was waiting before pitching. I wanted no part of a bad throw so I was not pitching and was waiting for the warning to stop flashing for the sole purpose of avoiding the impact on my pitches. The impression I had was that my waiting for the R2 to stop flashing actually made my opponent want to press it more. That was the only explanation for how much it was pressed and for how long.
...obvs I was just super lucky to get the opponents I did. I'm sure I would have a different experience if I tried online again. I'll give it a go.
