Why this game is a disgrace for baseball

Then, they mock your love for baseball with the who knows based on what reference timing window to hit the ball. Why? because the timing of the breaking balls is so slow compared to the fastballs, that if you wait to see if the ball is breaking, you are never in time for the fastball:
newsflash devteam, the whole purpose of the breaking balls is for you to confuse them with the fastball , because of their BREAKING, not the difference in speed. Not sure how much baseball you've played in your life but breaking balls are a type of off-speed pitch. So yes, the purpose of a breaking ball is both for break and change of speeds. No point in reading your rant after this.

You’re spot on about real life breaking pitches. And to add to that, the speed variance can be so much greater when facing a more skilled pitcher. I think the biggest problem people have with hitting breaking balls in this game is their camera set up. I like using the zone high camera. For me, I think it’s easier to read the pitch out of the pitcher’s hand from the release point because it’s zoomed in so much. You can see a bit of arch out of the hand when it’s released on the breaking pitches. It’s not as nice looking as being able to see the hitter in full view but it definitely helps with hitting the ball. May not work for everyone, but I find it more helpful.

Boy, this is a creepy post to look at. Sure, the guy may be upset, but he makes some valid points, some ideas that relate to how to make the game better, some things that he thinks occur in baseball that are not reflector in this simulation game. I could see debating with him, but you people gang up on anyone who looks at the game this way. "It's just a game?" No, way really? If it's so meaningless why are you reading a post on its message board. It's just a condescending way to speak to anyone. What does his score have to do with anything? He bought the game just like you, these are his consumer thoughts. You debate and discuss like children in junior high and honestly, I would have thought that a group of men playing a baseball game would have some level of decency and intelligence, I guess I was thinking of the real sorry not the video version. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, or my gamer score isn't high enough to be included in such a high brow discussion, but I can't say I'm impressed. At least one guy finished a book once and learned the word diatribe... It doesn't really fit here, but it's really pretentious, points for that.
I always welcome a constructive respectful discussion, as you may see I have tried not to disrespect anyone, present my points of view maybe in a candid way, since I love to be able to relay my opinion on a matter that certainly is sad, because definitively otherwise what I have pointed out, this is a great game. Its a shame not to try and fix what I have mentioned so far. I do not believe I have all the answers, but would love to see a game where the facts I pointed out are not present.
You literally said to me, “ You seem to know little about what hitting is.” That’s not at all respectful. You don’t know me, you just said that in response to my comment about guesswork and prediction. You then went on to describe exactly what I was talking about with different wording. I happen to have been a very successful ball player (not MLB successful but that’s not the total measure of success) and I also coach a very successful youth travel program. I don’t take offense to your comment, but you shouldn’t get upset with people who share a different opinion than you, especially over a video game. My original comment was not even directed towards trying to tell you you’re wrong in your assessment of the game. I was simply sharing my personal feelings about the game in relation to how close to realism is actually possible with an analog controller. My personal opinion is not the end all be all statement of what this game is, it’s just how I feel about it. Sorry that you don’t find this game to be living up to your expectations. I’ve been there with other games and the let down sucks.

lol what mode is this based off of….let me guess diamond dynast which is far from baseball
No its Online rated. Most of these troubles are all over the place anyway. and In Dynasty mode it's just silly the odd behaviour of the game. No matter how good a hitter or pitcher is, if you make a good pitch, a good timed swing, good things should come your way, thats baseball, but not here.
the best hitters in baseball avg 3/10 hits. There are tons of timed swings that are drilled right at players, or popups.

hahaha we found the Hunter Thompson in this forum that's for sure

Best MLBTS since 17, loving the game this year.

If you’re going to post whiny complaining posts, you’re most likely to get flamed. If you point out flaws or ask legitimate questions, chances are you’ll get constructive replies, with the occasional [censored] here and there. If this game had an 80% approval rate, that means 20% don’t like it. But it’s a haters world, so if you don’t like something it’s automatically bad. Like he posted.
That's the solution for you blind people, "he is a hater" by pointing out FACTS Im not being a hater. Sure, my wording is stingy, designed for the developers, so they can suffer at least some frustration and shame because they know I'm right. And then, turns out you are a cheater as well , because you approve cheating behaviour as a regular standard on online gaming. Thank you for presenting yourself so honestly. Now ppl here knows what to expect if they play you. Reread my post, seems your brain forgot to process some parts, specially the 3rd to last, being this one the last one.
I have no idea where you got cheater from my post, and resurrected an old thread out of nowhere, so I’m guessing you’re back from a ban?
And I have no desire to reread the 3rd to last part above the one before the last or whatever because you make no sense and I’m not masochistic enough to put myself through another read of your ramblings.

I don’t think the game is a disgrace, it’s just a shame the focus is more on stubs than actually focusing deeply on franchise mode, because that’s what baseball is more about, playing seasons and enjoying the gameplay of a simulation game … Online franchise being taken away for stub buying superstar packs has hurt the game overall…

First year Xbox player here. Were Diamond Dynasty, stubs and card packs not a thing last year? I honestly don’t mind it. It’s kinda fun and I think their system for that is better than EA’s ultimate team. But I agree with you about online franchise. That would sick.

Yes, I think it started in 2015 if I remember correctly, it’s just gotten more and more focus over the years because SDS is gong after more cash, it’s where people keep spending real money to get stubs … I love having legend players, and I don’t hate the idea of diamond dynasty and building legend teams, BUT when they take away online franchise after 2017 and then mess with RTTS to force you into stubs it’s and issue and hurting the game … Some people love franchise, some love Diamond dynasty, some love RTTS, give gamers options…

Gocha, thanks. Sounds a lot like Ultimate Team on NHL. Started off as a cool mode years ago but now it’s all about who spends the most money to buy packs or coins to get the players they want off the marketplace. I refuse to spend more money after buying the game so that mode has become pretty unenjoyable. Hope I don’t end up feeling the same way about Diamond Dynasty. So far I think I’ve managed to build a pretty decent team just from packs and cards I’ve gotten from playing other modes, and I like how there’s plenty to do with that team offline too.

What a weird take.

I agree with most of your opinion, but I have to accept it because there is no better option than SDS's mlb the show

Can’t wait for the sequel!

Well it may read distasteful, but I didn't insult you. We need to face the fact that if you don't know what you are talking about, people may call it out on you and bitter as it may be, you have to swallow it. That being said, maybe you didn't relay the message with a more understandable wording for me, not everybody is able to express properly what's on their mind to everybody. I'm sorry if I made you feel offended, because it was not my intention. If we agree on the process of batting, I have news for you and everyone who is still playing regardless, since its the only decent baseball game out there, there is no denying that.
So it turns out: that now, players with the pci batting option, are shameless cheating: let me explain you how:
They put the pci in just about either of the corners of the strike zone. And since the pci was reworked on the 2020 edition, and even increased the sensitivity on this new version, now the contact on the edges of the center crossair are way more good that before. So then. they just press the swing button of their choice, when the ball is about to arrive, so they are not making ANY effort to track the ball for a good contact, because since the pci is more sensitive on the borders now, rarely you will get a swing and miss.
So it turns out, that the supposedly representation of hand and eye coordination, are creating an unfair advantage against any pitcher/pitch. Funny no? I cannot believe they are pressing shamelessly their behinds on their chair cushions when the game is as gravely unbalanced as it is.

Yes of course mr denial, and I haven't being banned. First, I'm the creator of the thread, and the thread is not old, whats old is your denial behaviour.

I think, that you are making it pretty obvious how you feel about online cheating, you are ok with it because people are doing it since forever? And don't go saying that does not mean you are a cheater, because people advocate for what they think is right, specially when pointed out. Out of everything I have written, you decided to mention and advocate for that, the cheating tradition on online gaming. hahaha, got you!

Yes indeed they are slower than fastballs, but I was trying to point out, that the speed difference on the game between fastballs and breaking balls is too great, and I tried to illustrate it by setting an example where you pitch a 40mph pitch to a pro batter, you are going to get hammered, does not matter what speed the previous fastball was. That was what I tried to explain.
-
this is for anyone who thinks I'm ranting:
I have an average of 3 homers per game currently, and have 19 wins plus over my losses, so no, I'm not complaining because I'm losing. I'm complaining because I think the flaws that I have pointed out are real, make the game unbalanced, destroy the baseball experience, and most of them are being disregarded just because after charging you at least 60 dollars, they feel their next priority, is to sweet-groove you into spending yet more money, on something that has no value whatsoever. Period. And the sad part is, that since they are so focused on that, they don't bother to take a second look to the facts I pointed, that I'm sure already people are complaining about over the years, and they still don't have the time to take care of it. Anyone who believes I'm exaggerating, please remember that if you don't do a dinasty team, you can't see your universal profile stats inside the game. I was lucky enough on that regard, since one of the participants of this discussion, provided a link to my profile, which honestly I didn't bother to look and never would have guess its here, since in the previous versions of the game, this restriction was not there. I will NOT create a dinasty team, because I will NOT support these kind of policies on their side.
So I just wanted to point this out, and remind you that if you do not talk about things that are not good, it surely it wont get fixed. WE are paying for this game development, so ultimately, they NEED to HEAR US SERIOUSLY. And also, being in disagreement with someone, and explicitly stating so, its not a disrespect to the other person, nor is not support bad popular behaviours like online cheating, nor "supposedly attacking your favorite game", should put you in a biased and defensive position, when reading mine or anyone's opinion about something that they think is not good. Thanks for reading!

No, cheating is bad, but what can I do? People, when anonymity is guaranteed, will use all kind of cheap tactics and bad behaviour they can get away with. I’m 24-8 or something, just under 700s; I try to have fun, realistic types of games, but I expect fully to run into a-holes and exploiters because that’s the nature of the beast. It’s like saying « we shouldn’t kill anybody »; yeah sure it shouldn’t exist but wishing it away doesn’t work. If you play any type of game online, expect cheaters and exploiters and glitchers on your path. Just because I accept that fact doesn’t mean I’m condoning it. You really are daft for reaching that conclusion out of my post; and presumptuous too.
