Nonexistent matchmaking...anyone else?

After going on my most recent 10 game losing streak (not the first time for MLB 21, but also never experienced this in any other show game) I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing? I CONSISTENTLY get matched against 24-7, 96-40, 15-1 etc teams...which in itself is confusing. I lose my fair share of matches to the cartoonish amount of home runs or just quitting when I realize the game is setting me up for a loss that go around. (I’ve also been set up for wins, but that’s far more rare) It’s really hard to believe these guys are so far above .500. The game has too much say on whether you win or lose (good contact being line outs, just late pitches being hung badly, random fielding and throwing errors etc)
But then again there are the games that finally reward me for swing timing and pci placement and I get the lead only to lose it the very next inning by giving up doubles to weak contact and eventually the lead because Trea Turner apparently can’t handle routine ground balls. (Also lost a game to a friend where Willy Adames ran past a ground ball in the 9th inning)
It’s such a shame, this game performs BEAUTIFULLY 25% of the time, but I’m not sure it’s worth putting up with 75% dog sh*t. I don’t want to relegate myself to single player only, but...well you’ve heard my rant.
Anyone else almost exclusively playing the best players to ever buy a Show Game in events?

Yes but my problem is LAG when it's non existing the above doesn't happen except dodgy HRs.

Matchmaking is either malfunctioning or I don’t understand it. I’m WC (or whatever 600s is) and in my most recent BR run, after 2-0 start I got matched with someone with the flawless banner; got trounced and then got scrubs until 7-1 or 8-1, and then yes I got demolished, which I expected every game once I reached 6 wins, which was my top result since 19. The new live event, first game I get a WS guy who could have spanked me like a rag doll if he didn’t play like an idiot, probably because of overconfidence. That’s what I like about RS and the controllable difficulty slider, I can climb up and down with guys around my level, and the odd super player who tanks in the lower rankings.

The matchmaking seems bad this year. I think I'm 39-14 in ranked this is year. I had a couple games against people with really bad records. Like 12-50, 31-65.

Battle royale is not based on your ranked season record/rank. It is only based on your current battle royale run. So if you are 2-0 in that run, they try to match you with someone else who is 2-0 in their run. Same thing for events.

They should still weigh in your background; why do I start an event/BR first game at 1500/1600 level and earlier they started at 1300/1400? I’ve never run in previous years in WS or Flawless guy in the first 3-4 games; this year twice in a row
