Inside Pitches

Personally, I don’t feel like batters should be able to launch pitches a foot inside. I’ve lost too many games because late in games I throw a great cutter or slider inside, and somehow it gets turned on for a 420ft shot. Don’t understand it.

Against a human or CPU?

Just come to accept that when you play online you're playing the game's strengths and weaknesses as much as playing baseball itself. I guess that's what people mean when they refer to "the meta."
And this has been around since at least Tecmo Bowl, when we all abused the hell out of the uncoverable TE route...Cap Boso, if I remember correctly...

If the pci can reach it, it doesn’t matter where you pitch. If pci is on ball it’s flying

I agree with you OP. I think its based on pitchers confidence and contact swing. SDS needs to nerf contact swings velocity. Although i've shattered players bats before.
Just fyi, the last few games i've played seemed to show, for me, less bad ball homers. Looking at the end game pitching data showed i game up dingers on hittable pitcher they didn't miss.
One think i recommend is mixing up pitches and locations. See if a player is too agressive or patient but mix it up.

Online against humans.
That makes sense, most people are early on everything. If they’re so early that they’re fouling those off then it’s time to throw some outside change ups.

Can't say I've had someone launch a 1ft inside pitch.

If you’re playing online humans just gotta accept that people are playing the game like real baseball. If they are anticipating a high/inside pitch they can get to it just like they could if they were playing the game in real life. Maybe mix up your pitches more so they aren’t as predictable. A lot of players throw high and in, eventually people start guessing the location.

I have had a definite ball get turned on and blasted out, but a ball a foot inside is [censored] near hitting the batter. If the ball is that inside it usually triggers the bail out animation and overrides the swing.
