I've really tried to like the 2021 version of the game. I've leveled up multiple Archetypes to Diamond. According to my Universal Profile, I've played 192+ hours of the 2021 version (granted, some of those were with the game paused or whatnot). I've spent a lot of time posting on this forum trying to help other players where I could.

As a player whose primary playing is in RTTS mode, I don't find this year's version nearly as appealing as previous versions have been. I'm fairly sure if I were a DD player, I would feel differently but I'm not.

So a few weeks back I bought the 2020 version from Amazon on the cheap and have started playing that. Anyone else gone back to a previous version?

I'm starting to like the new system. It gives RTTS a kinda RPG feel with the perks and Archetypes standing in for armor or weapons. I like that they are trying new things because lets be honest, In the old system once you got your stats into the 90's, the grind for last 9 levels compared to the amount of in game difference those points made was pretty brutal. 2021's RTTS definitely still has some problems that need to be addressed but I'm not so infuriated with it that I'm ready to just give up on this years edition. However, SDS are total jerks for punishing PS4 players by locking away features from them. If I give up on this studio it will be because of that.

I am reloading MLB 20 as I type this. The simple fact that I can't start a fresh player in RTTS (only mode I play) is the reason why.

I am going to play this character out until I get completely tired of it and then bring 20 back online and play the rest of the summer with that...I am going to get my money out of 21 but I am going to stay with 20

I have hopes that Game Update #9 will fix RTTS a bit and at least allow us to start Multiple players from scratch...

However I still think this year RTTS is still broken and a bad design poorly executed...

Even though I'm done pre-ordering, I still have hopes for 2022... We'll see... I'm an optimist.

At least TheShow20 is still great for RTTS and the roster community is strong... It will be my go to for the next few months as soon as I'll be done MTO and the few conquest maps I wanted to complete...

I hope in 22 that the pitchers are not super humans like they have been for the last several years...I hit a pitcher square in the arm with a line drive and it bounced off him straight to the third baseman and he threw me out by four steps. I have 112 speed..the pitcher then went on the throw a three hit complete game shut out. If that was real it would have shattered his arm and the ball would not have bounced straight to the third baseman...so much for actual game simulation...they really just took this game from four years ago and added a couple of stupid dog and pony tricks and charged us a higher price for it...I will wait until June of 22 before buying the next one..and if it looks worse than this year I will just play 20

Equipment still doesn't make it go over 99. That stat cannot go over 99
