It's ruining the game for you, but improving the game of the pitcher. Just because people are using this new function does not mean the game is ruined for all. Just those that waited for garbage pitches to just drop in the zone.. It's a major improvement if you ask me, and I don't use it.
This is how hitting works in real life though as there have only been a few pitchers in history that could always dot the black…and Greg Maddux didn’t throw 99.

I already knew as soon as they introduced pinpoint pitching this would happen. If they make it so a good player can paint the black litey every pitch. This game will be ruined cause no real life pitcher can do that.

It certainly didn’t help it. People that don’t know how to pitch probably like it though.
Dude stop. "People who don't know how to pitch probably like it" lmao. The game forced pitches with good input down the middle in 18, 19 and 20. The guys who liked that were the scrubs who can't hit pitches on the black and have to wait for those cookies down the middle to be somewhat successful. I'm not gonna make assumptions which category your or OP fit, but take a good long look on the mirror and decide for yourself.
Do yourself a favour and just look up his games played then hit block. I rarely block anyone, I think I have 3, if you have 4 games players and 40 posts about gameplay per day you make the cut.
Man Im 40-18 In RS ... i use pinpoint too and its way overpowered.... its not baseball .. nobody in history has that level of command
I was referencing the comment he was talking about not you. It isn’t baseball sure, but nothing in this game is.
There isn’t anything to combat 110+ contact and 110+ power every batter game after game except good pitching. Usually that doesn’t even work. You can be 40-18 all you want but some guys are still hitting over 400 on legend, pitching still isn’t effective enough. Never will be, hitting will always be king in this game.
And honestly I’d get ready because they haven’t even released the meta milestone pitchers yet, Glavine Lee and Oswalt are B+ level pitchers most years of that, Lee is more like a D they’ve made into an A. It’s going to get much more difficult when more and more No Hitters get added.

LOL...neither did Smoltz, It's odd how they beefed up some of the legends.

This thread reminds me of that classic LMFAO ft. lil Jon song.... “ Dots! Dots! ..DotsDots Dots! Everyybodyy!”

So to you the opposite of that was to put it in the exact same spot every time with such a simplistic system? Then when your opponent hits it’s just random output? Okay. I just always base my opinion on the fact that gamers nowadays, and after 8 years in sports games especially sports gamers, win at every cost and want to cheese as much as possible so if something new is added to the game and the majority of people like it then it probably isn’t good for the actual game. If a YouTuber found a way to bunt for a base hit every time 100% right now that is all you would see online until it was patched.
And I’m alright at the game. Would be better if I enjoyed it online. In actual games I’m probably 80% win and would be higher if I cared to enough stick around. I pitch with analog by the way and still think it’s too easy compared to the randomness of hitting. But it is what it is. And that’s the game.
If you can hit pitches in every location, it doesn't matter if your opponent can throw accurate pitch after accurate pitch. However, If you can't hit every pitch in every location, then yes you have something to complain about. Case and point I would assume.
So you telling me sinker up and in is real baseball ? telling me being patient at the plate ... looking for a pitch you can drive , forcing pitchers in fastball counts ...man this isnt even baseball its all about who can put the PCi on the ball at any locations ... why take any pitches then there is no point because anybody can spot a offspeed in a fastball count.... you just a stupid fkin gamer ... not a baseball fan gtfo lol
Sinker up and in has nothing to do with the pinpoint mechanic and everything SDS shoddy programming.
Has everything to do with it as with pinpoint you can just dot up and in broken sinkers
So what? Just crush them. I don't understand why people have so much issues with these sinkers despite it not being realistic.
Because for every player that can consistently hit that pitch there are probably 25 that can’t. Add in that connectivity and frame rate really impacts high velocity inside pitches and quite often those pitches are unhittable.
I want tweaks. Up and in sinkers being the best pitch needs to go. In the dirt curveballs and chamges need to be more effective.
I think pinpoint though is straight cheese to the point of running 4 verticals in madden.
In the dirt curveballs and changeups need to be more effective??? So the other user can't have a good eye?? Lol......okay....

A lot of meaningless feedback on a good assessment of one of the games faults, merely pointed out oin this thread. Where of course there will be many retractors all with a record of 250 and 0. Pinpoint pitching is just another way for SOME players to use some obvious advantages. Whatever happened to the laws of physics and the statistical realism . Gentlemen ,the game of baseball is not the Twilight Zone intended nor existing for some individuals to rampage untethered . Professor Kwik

It's already in the game... it's called wedge.

No I didn't say any of those things so don't put words in my mouth. But you can hit those up and in sinkers just as hard as any other pitch. So I would highly advise you to hit that batting cage instead of complaining about something that isn't an issue - your lack of ability to hit pitches is the real issue.
Baseball hitting shouldnt be all about putting a PCI pefectly on the ball...
I mean that's literally what hitting is lmao. A hitter is trying to aim his bat and time his swing.....

I don't use pinpoint. I've got a shaky right hand from nerve damage and when I use pinpoint it looks like someone gave a baby an etch a sketch.
Pinpoint has helped a ton of people. You see a lot of dots and painted corners now. It makes me feel better about being able to hit the ball decent when I know someone is using it.
Be grateful if you can use pinpoint, I use pulse and it blows but that's what I have to use to play the game. So I always have to get pitchers with really high control ratings

Sorry to hear about your condition, but that me snort out loud at work...

Baseball is a game of adjustments. I think, in this case, the adjustment needs to be learning to hit balls on the edges.
Personally, I don’t use pinpoint, but I agree that overall this year, even poor players seem much better at pitching.
That said, being able to hit your spots is not the only thing. I still face quite a few opponents who have very predictable sequences. In general, I think the ppp meta also leads to many players trying to make every pitch a dot on the edge. This also can lead to more walks and mistakes, or even just 3-0 pitches down the middle.
A surprising number of players do not challenge in hitter’s counts or even at all.

To me the fair criticism about pinpoint is you an actually have the tracing looking awful and still get a perfect release.

I have always argued against more user input and less randomness because I knew this would happen. When I can paint corners with a silver pitcher just as well as a diamond pitcher while using PPP then the cards do not matter any longer. They might as well give all pitchers the same "per nines" as they have become meaningless. It does save me stubs though.
