Where will Castellanos end up?
-
Sadly, the Reds will not be willing to put up the $25+M to keep him after his likely opt-out. If he were to stay a Red, he'd make $16M next year.
I'm wondering if the Jays or ChiSox will make a play for Castellanos soon. I would love the Redlegs to keep him, but better to get something in trade than to allow another zero-return departure.
Anyone else have any theories?

Jays are 100% a no go. Trust me.
Chisox make a lot of sense

I would like the jays, but they need another arm or left handed bat.

I know he doesn't want to DH, so any team looking to put him at DH will only be getting a rental.

With how he's playing, he's opting out regardless I think. He can get more than 16mill per on a 2 year deal after this year.. which is his current deal.

True. I do believe that he is much improved in RF this year. He has, so far, made all the routine plays along with some surprising plays. Love the swagger and the back and forth with Winker.
Takes a bit of the usual sting out of being a Reds' fan.

It's too bad, I will really miss him, but I don't see the Reds turning it around. I'd rather see a couple prospects for him rather than a compensatory pick.

I wish the Cubs would have kept him!
