Fake Throws?

I had it happen a couple times since launch but the last couple days everytime I get a ground ball to an infielder and press X to make the throw it does a fake throw. If I hit it multiple time it continues to fake the throw and then will eventually make throw but by then too late. What am I doing wrong? Its driving me crazy. Costing me games.

Check your fielding settings, there is a throw cancelling setting. That will be it.
