I hate showdown

I played this game last year and struggled with showdown and think it’s the worst part of the game and it’s back this year. I played the new showdown last night and struggled with it. I’m not great by any means but not horrible either. The task is get one hit in one inning. Ok. First up is klesko. Perfect swing time, line out to right. Next up is grandal. Good swing time, ground out to short. Next up is mattingly. Good swing time, pop up behind home. Failed. That is the way it went. Made it to smith with 4 runs. Ok need 12 to win. 20 outs later and I got 0 runs against him. I’m done. I would gladly buy stubs and do exchanges if I could not have to do showdowns. I know I’m gonna get hate for this post and really don’t care but F*** this game
-
then don't play it?
-
The first half of showdown in on rookie for crying out loud. The PCI is almost the size of the strike zone. Yeah sometimes you’ll run into some bad luck but 95% of the time, you should be able to get 1 hit in an inning
-
Sounds like your issue may be pitch selection. Showdown will eat you alive if you are impatient. With those swing timing and results combined with getting 0 runs off Smith in 20 outs sounds like you are swinging at everything.
-
This game is awful. I just got 1 hit by Lee smith. Who Tf wants to play that? Lol.

Trust me they are frustrating man. But everything besides “Extreme” is beatable with patience. Just play something else for a few hours and come back

I haven't touched Showdown this year and am not sure if I will. I know MTO takes longer, but I don't really care because I know I'm getting TA points out of it each time and I don't spend the whole time cussing at my TV.

I just went 12/12 on the 2nd inning showdown. Laughingly easy!!

The more pitches you see the easier it is. and you cant swing at pitches in the zone.
You have to swing at the "right" pitch. -
I don't play online at all and I thought the 2nd inning Showdown was very easy. Like another poster mentioned, half of the Showdown is on Rookie. Patience is the key. Also, always look ahead to the next challenge and draft and pick your perks according to the upcoming challenge. You should constantly change your lineups. For the most part, stack all of your better hitters at the top of your lineup. One challenge was to score one run and the computer gave you two men on base. I just subbed for the man on second and put someone with speed and then stole third. A simple flyball to the outfield and the challenge was completed.
Lee Smith throws a lot of balls so be patient, he also loves the high fastball, so just sit with your PCI middle to high and wait for your pitch. The same goes for Kopech.
-
I really hate to take pitches and work counts on rookie and veteran difficulty, so when I do showdowns, I try to take perks like “clear for takeoff” and others that give me bonus to contact and exit velo early in the count.
There are a lot of ways to beat the showdowns. Find one that suits your play style.
If you’re having trouble with the final bosses, try to complete as many mini-missions as you can so you can go in only down 2-4 runs, or tied if possible.
It can be a very frustrating mode and I’m glad to have got the 4 TA players I needed so I don’t have to grind them more than once per inning.
I sucked at them last year and am about 50/50 this year, so don’t give up!

NO, moments are the worst.

It's def a toss up between SD and moments. SD is a little easier this this year, but there are times where your bat is nerfed out of your control. I wish they would change the wording of 'Good' swings and just call them ok. Most of the good marked swings are pop ups or cheap double plays
-
Just because you perfect perfect a ball doesn’t mean it’s a great pitch to swing at. I’ve PP’d a few pitches low and away, and I’m fine with those being outs.
-
Inning ones so far are easier for sure than last year’s; the 6th inning one with Maddux last year gave me fits. I actually like the boss battles; it’s the missions in between that are a drag and have no patience for.
-
Showdown is what it is, patience will help for sure. My favorite part of showdown is the platinum, diamond, super, mega, gold glove CPU defense
-
Like others are saying, plate discipline is the most important thing in showdown. Also, sit high fastball, that’s where I usually get fastballs.
-
Is the showdown for the 2nd inning out yet? I didn't think it was....

Came out yesterday
