The infield shift is the saboteur of my perfect game.

I would really love to be able to stop my infield from shifting when I'm pitching. I'm so tired of a perfect game being ruined by a slow roller to third while no one is there. Literally not once in my 4 seasons of rtts has the shift done its job. All it does is ruin stats. At least irl I could complain to a manager about why the best pitcher in the history of the league cant place his infield in proper position.

This happened to me as well. Hit went to the opposite field right were 3B would normally be in the 9th inning with 2 outs.
-
The first time it happened I just let it go because that's just the way things go. The 5th time it happened I was irate. Absolutely insane that I have no say in this regard. I understand it's a managers call not the pitchers, but I know elite pitchers would definitely be listened too as well.

I honestly just came here to make a thread on this,... like 90 percent of the hits against me are hitters hitting against the shift with lil bs rollers that would be an easy out but bc the shift are walk in doubles.... ugh
-
It would be nice if you could have some say in the defensive alignment. However, if your defense is shifting against a guy, it means you need to pitch them down and in. Make it impossible for them to go the other way and force them to hit into the shift.
-
I have a stud RTTS closer and nothing like the lead off hitter hitting a weak sauce grounder to third where there is no 3B and the LF is practically in CF so I give up a double to start the inning.
-
Exactly. Meaning the shift makes pitching more difficult. Idc if a guy is a .350 batter or a .100 batter, I can make them all look stupid until the stupid shift makes me pitch differently for no reason. Of the little amount of contact made, its mostly groundballs so I just need a regular infield and the hitter stands no chance. The shift forces my hand to try and force strikeouts. The shift has yet to work a single time the way it was designed to, for me anyway. The AI sees a hole and then goes the other way every time.
-
Sounds like some DD anti-success code has made its way into RTTS
-
The AI forces me into a shift then forces the batter to hit away. Even down and in pitches end up rolling slowly past 3rd.

There is a setting for shifting auto or manual, does this work in RTTS?

I have looked for it in rtts settings but haven't found it.
It’s under fielding settings way down second from bottom.

Thank you! I was only looking at the settings menu in game, not in the main menu. Never been so happy to feel stupid lol.
