Better launch: Cyberpunk 2077 or MLB the Show 21?
-
My vote is Cyberpunk. I could at least play that when I wanted to.
-
You can’t see it, but I’m rolling my eyes.
-
MLBTS. Offline functions normally in terms of franchise mode and play now. Online is a mess, but the gameplay is pretty great. CyberPunk literally couldn't do anything right on previous gen consoles. I ran into several graphical bugs that were legitimately giving me headaches.
-
For me I played CP on PS4 and as long as I saved constantly I could continue on. I eventually gave up on the ps4 version and played it on PC instead and had 0 issues.
I just don't trust the modes outside of DD right now. I don't play franchise or road to the show, but do March to October sometimes. After not receiving my first half points it said I earned because of the server issues I've given up for now
And I'm typing this after not being able to connect to Diamond Dynasty for the third time since starting to play tonight about 2 hours ago

i played cyberpunk on series x without many issues where i could play when i want, but with mlbts seems servers always down when i go to play so i feel like it was a waste of money
-
I played Cyberpunk on PC, so this has been a complete disaster. Way beyond acceptable. Especially with SDS doing zero damage control. Get on Twitch and apologize at least. Not some prerecorded message. Live. No blocking messages. Issuing basic statements and having your community team retweet them is embarrassing.

You played it at least a month after CP released, can’t compare the 2. I’ve been able to play a lot on the show. Finished all conquest maps besides US, completed all moments, and almost done with all first inning xp. I played cp on my ps5 in January (months after release) and it was still a buggy mess and couldn’t play more than 2 hours without giving up and uninstalling it. The show is leaps and bounds ahead of cp

I got CP day one but not the point. You show you play a lot of DD and play when servers work. I play mostly RTTS and the load out system been broke from day one and I play when I get home from work around 6:30am est and they shut down servers everyday for maintenance at 7 so to me I cannot play where I could on CP. And this is the first year out of the last 10 this game has been this bad on release

The point I made about you and CP, is that it was physically impossible for you to play CP day one on an Xbox series x. CP released in September and the series x released in November. If you got CP the day you got your Xbox the game would of been out for over a month. I got CP day one and played it on my PS4 and it was and total mess. It was legit unplayable unless you were fine with crashing every hour and the graphics being so bad and glitchy that it was hard to even look at and you just force yourself through it.
Yes there is issues with the servers and I’m sorry they do the maintenance at a time inconvenient to you, but my guess is they decided to do it at that time because it probably has the smallest player base. I’m guessing they looked at numbers and found out more people are playing the game at 3am PT vs 4am/7am est. if this was their actual reasoning than it was a smart business decision because it affects the fewest number of people.
I’m sorry if your one that falls in this time frame and I really hope they get it fixed soon, I’m just tired of people comparing CP and the show. SDS I think was forced by mlb to take on more than they could chew with cross play and cross gen happening all at once, where as CDPR had 8 years to make the game and then decided to try and legit scam people by not allowing it to be reviewed on console and only on PC because they knew how bad it was and didn’t want to hurt pre sales

You really can't compare them. The situations behind their development and releases are so different that its not even close. Cyberpunk 2077 may honestly be the worst disaster in gaming history. I bought it so I can say that lol. The amount of money, time, and resources that went into that game is absolutely mind blowing. I would almost say the same for Anthem if it took as long to make. Honestly whem you make a post like this all I can do os shake my head. MLBTS 21 will get better. Much better. People need to cut them some slack or go do the job themselves. Alot has happened in the last year or 2 and everyone is affected. Even game developers believe it or not. They're humans with actual real lives too. To compare this game with Cyberpunk is absolutely ridiculous.

There's a lot of people that act like Cyberpunk wasn't worked on for an entire decade and then still not working when it came out
-
I had zero issues with Cyberpunk other than an audio bug that was an easy fix. I actually enjoyed Cyberpunk and don't get the backlash, but I think it was mainly issues on last gen consoles and not PC. I played it on PC. So obviously that was a much better launch than the show for me since The Show constantly has server disconnects and I can't play or progress most nights I try. Sad because this is the first The Show game I've ever played. Don't know if I'll buy anymore.

Cyberpunk.. had very few issues at all with it on the Series X

Yea I was bummed. The game could be limitless. I'm not a developer or game coding expert obviously but I don't understand what happened. They had all the time and money they could just about ask for

As a gamer who has played The Show for a lot of years I'll just say this and take it however you would like. The first month there are always issues. Not always like this but there are issues. Personally, I buy the game every year knowing there will be some sort of problem. I just play when I can and take it as that knowing sooner than later it will be great. I wouldn't base the MLB The Show experience off of the first week of '21. It's been kinda rough I won't lie but it is in no way a reflection of the game as a whole. Consider waiting a month next year and judging for yourself based off YouTube and reviews. Or however you would like

Yea I kind of put the game down to wait on fixes for now. I'll try it again in a few weeks and see if it's better, and know in the future to wait a bit as you said. When it works the actual game is fun for sure. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Not sure how you played CP in September since it's release date was December 10 on all platforms again yes CDPR knew there was a lot of issues with the last gen games. The next gen had bugs and issues but it was playable and this game is playable for a lot of people as for me and the mode and times I get on its not.

For all its bugs, at least Cyberpunk could be played without need for an online connection to servers.

No problem I just hope you give it another chance. In '17 I felt like you do now. It was so bad for weeks and weeks. I think it was worse than the first weeks this year. But just my opinion. Maybe spend time working the market and building up some stubs while you wait. I've made over a million messing around on my phone throughout my down time

Yes you are correct it was December 10 not September. I couldn’t remember the release date (to be honest there was a lot of [censored] that went on in 2020 that’s hard to remember specifically when things were lol) so I googled it on my phone and it came up sept 17 right on the home page as the initial release. I messed by not looking further to see that it was pushed back to the December release. I completely own that and that’s on me for not actually looking into it with more detail, my bad man.
The bugs that are on cyberpunk to me make it too distracting to play right now because I lock into them and it completely takes my focus away from the game.I can deal with some bugs and glitches in game, but when it’s as much as CP has I focus on looking for the glitches instead of just playing the game (ADHD working it’s magic). With the show at least the actual gameplay when you get in is good. Yes there’s the issues with stats and load outs, but in game it’s not like things are flashing in and out on the field and people arnt missing uniforms or body parts. I do get your frustration and I hope they get it fixed soon so you can play the game
