Hitting 100 mph

Its not confusing. If the game had you lock your pitcher and lineup BEFORE you are matched up to an opponent, then people would not be able to scroll through their line up to do the home field detection cheese. I like the idea!

@lucas8181_PSN this is exactly what I mean ️
There’s no real point to having you and your opponent select your starter/lineup once your matched up because you can’t see your opponents choice of starter so you can’t adjust your lineup accordingly. Instead after you confirm you want to play, you go into a lobby or something, lock your starter and lineup, confirm, then the matchmaking starts and you and your opponent go right into the game.

Idk much about nothing but for some reason I've figured it up this year I've been the home team about 85% so far so whatever that means and whatever it's worth I think I need to go to monitor

Fastballs when home = easy. As slow as a change up.
94 mph fastballs on the road = have to cheat to catch up to it.
Why is this? This is consistent. Something to do with the internet of the home team? Is there anything I can do?
It’s called latency. And yes it sucks but I just won on the road so it’s not game breaking. But if you don’t wanna deal with it if you have any slowdown on your pitch or lineup selection then you know you’re road team and just back out til you get home
This is game breaking if that’s the only solution. If everybody employs this tactic, then nobody is playing.
Yes.... and ultimately makes it almost pointless to play. So you either have a major disadvantage or advantage... no games with an even match.

I got you, you want to remove the home/away stuff. I've never paid much attention, but the "lag" on the menu does seem less noticeable this year.
Last year I knew without a doubt that I was home or away, this year I'm never sure. Maybe I'm just bad at paying attention.

I've made WS several times and never backed out b/c I was the away team. You do know different pitching motions also change how fast pitches appear. Example why people like nolan ryan and aroldis chapman have always been so easy to hit, but some pitchers are hard to get around on 95mph.

Does your tv have a Game scene select/mode, if it does try that before investing in a monitor

You’re just a beast because everybody I play can’t hit Chapman.

Tons of people do this. I just played against a guy who threw curveballs 90% of the time with clevinger. With the latency issue being the away team it was a pita to hit them good.
Yeah o played a dude that threw all sliders or curves down and in ( to the same spot) and occasionally a fastball up and away or up and in. I just gave up on the ability to hit the breaking pitches due to being away team and sat on the fastball. I won but it was terrible way to have to play knowing the other guy had zero intelligence with pitch placement. If I was home I would have shelled him

Ya, I think the current selection screens are just OG mechanics that they haven’t thought about in years, but I think it would be a simple fix to make them before the matchmaking begins.
I think this year it has been better due to new consoles, and dare I say it, possibly upgraded servers.... , but there has been games where I hear someone click through their lineup 2-3 times then back out

click click click. Start the video linked below at 14:00. It'll change your entire approach to hitting.

playing on a tv in general is your issue. in order to consistently hit fastballs at the higher difficulties you have to have a monitor
