New Patch
-
I don't have a large sample size yet, but yesterday I had a perfect/perfect flyball for a bomb and a good/okay weak flyout on seemingly the same placement and feedback with similar hitters. Not sure how I could've hit the latter better than I did and yet it was good/okay.
-
Yea something weird with timing window no doubt. I had a couple random games where I was late on everything and get like my timing was actually solid.
-
I played 7 RS games today. I even won 6 of them but never felt so frustrated the whole time. It just feels like they're reverting back to the direction of 19 and taking everything they worked on away.
-
Yep, not only does it seem random, but if you tighten the timing window too much (we are talking milliseconds after all) you get away from user skill and into setup/equipment/etc.
-
Some of us knew this all day yesterday
-
I know they were going to patch it, the hitting was just too good.

the sad part is the majority of complaints including myself were about pitching, not hitting...all we wanted was for input to matter for pitching, and if they couldn't do that than just increase pitch speeds so it wasn't BP every game...what do they do in response?..."increase in hitting difficulty"...there response to the question of why so many well timed pitch releases end up as hangers....."walk power hitters"....you can't make this s@#$ up lol

It’s not like our inputs are different post patch, just the randomness of the results we get from them. The explanation from the developer is effectively “we turned a bunch of perfects in squared up and good good, which haven’t changed at all from 19”. This patch was a huge step back from a great product at release.

Yesterday was so frustrating to me I had to get off and just play Warzone. Pre patch I had no problem with timing. Yesterday anything I hit was Good/Okay with the ball center PCI and if I did get lucky enough to finally hit a perfect/perfect or good squares up it was a line out straight to the outfielders gave me PTSD from '19. I and numerous others said all that needed to be fixed was the PITCHING why can’t they see that. This game was perfect man it’s so upsetting.
-
Gonna be testing it out again today.. I’m sure nothing changed but who knows.
-
Agreed. I play DD and RTTS more than anything else. I was thoroughly enjoying the game before this last patch. I get on and immediately want to stop playing. Maybe the hitting was too easy before but now I'm swinging a dead stick. Every conquest game goes into extra innings on Veteran difficulty.. My guys get good timing against bronze pitchers and almost only ever get good contact while the ball in well inside the PCI and when I get squared-up or even Perfect Perfect (which apparently means nothing now) it goes right at someone. It's hard to say any of this is random with how consistently bad it has been. I guys I'll just play something else until they figure it out because the game is no longer enjoyable to play. Please tweek your game SDS. So I don't feel like I wasted my money on your product.

Not gonna lie, I like the new update... Call me crazy

I also like the new update

Besides them adjusting the hitting they adjusted the amount of xp you get for every half inning when I first started playing I could strike out the side and get like 550 xp since the patch I get like 266 -280 for doing the same thing. I guess the youtuber and streamers were leveling up to quick

To be fair it was 2xx for a half inning pitching last year too. While we are getting less xp than launch, it is exactly the same as last year.

But the question is why. It isn't creating any issues like the patch did for hitting.

Hopefully SDS figures this [censored] out.. if not I’m gonna live in custom leagues where sliders can be controlled.. won’t play ranked if the hitting stays like this
Seeing you say this means a lot. Your a very good player so I know it’s not just happening to me and me crying about not being on pitches.
I played an event game and it was horrible, nothing like vs cpu. I don’t expect to be perfect/perfect every pitch, I know I’m not that good but holy hell there’s no way I’m good/ok on everything that gets thrown to me -
The timing window does seem a little out of whack. Pitches that I’m on inside I’m often early or late depending on the game (o wonder if it’s the input lag), and pitches away seem to be way off in terms of timing. I’m still hitting, but trying to calibrate the timing seems like a crapshoot right now. I agree with your initial post on why wouldn’t they just increase the pitch speeds, remove random good input pitches from floating down the middle and shrink PCI size.
-
Game seems ok to me.

It appears what they did was shrink the timing window for perfect so much that it now is effectively random. Unfortunately, this means a huge increase in good squared outs again, which is what ruined last year.
