Custom Leagues/Challenge Lobby

Can’t play any of my friends in custom league or DD, keep getting a challenge server failed notification when opponent joins the match and the ready up option remains locked before the screen freezes and we both get kicked out. We’re all on same platform, same generation but we can’t even play a single game against each other no matter if it’s thru our custom league or thru play vs friend online in DD. Was really hoping the issue would be resolved in today’s update. Anybody else having similar issues or have a fix?
