What Happened?

So I’ve been a huge Show fan since the first one came out. 95% of the time I’m playing “Road to the show”. I don’t understand what the thought process is behind this years game but there is a lot that I’m discovering about it that is disappointing.
From the first start up I went to road to the show and I’m not even able to create my character. I’m drafted as “Joe Random”. I find out I’m forced into playing as a 2 way player. It’s already a tough grind to level up a character when you focus on pitching or hitting. I don’t like the idea of doing both at once.
But at least those 2 irritations have workarounds.
Next problem is any time I go to my players load out I need to edit my uniform equipment displayed on my player. If I want to go from painter to cheese, after making the switch I got to open my equipment and switch on using batting gloves from 1 to both hands for example.
Switching between my pitcher and separate hitter is the same deal. It carries over. I have wristbands and compression sleeves on my hitter shown and so they show up next time I load my pitcher.
Pitches: I only have 3 pitches this year as a RTTS pitcher. I want to learn my 4th and 5th pitch types. This is hugely disappointing.
Sliders: I’ll be honest. I like to adjust the RTTS sliders to give me a bit of an advantage. Cant do it this year though or you forfeit XP.
Create-a-stadium: after 3 or 4 times of getting disconnected from the Show servers I was able to push through a finished stadium. Though I have no idea how to assign it to my Diamond Dynasty team. It’ll probably reveal itself to me sooner or later but it shouldn’t be a mystery.
The fact that I had to pay $10 more this year for the PS5 and with all these bugs and takeaways is really a black mark on a game I look forward to playing every year.
It’s another rush-to-market, patch-it-later mess along the lines of Cyberpunk. Wasn’t enough testing it feels like. Just really disappointing.

You need to edit your player outside of RTTS this year; kind of like universal profile. Sorry

That sums it up quite well... And since everything carries over, you are stuck with the same player everywhere, with every game saved...
As for updates, since the game is a yearly release, they must start to work on it real soon, so I don't expect a lot of patch... Let's face it, they better start 2022 soon they a A LOT of work to do!

It's called "live service, pay up." Your single player experience doesn't exist anymore.

Can't create multiple RTTS players only one why?? people purchase a game to play how they want to play not how dev like you to play, so why all the restrictions and limitations? can't adjust sliders on RTTS bc XP and progression stop why? not to mention all the bugs in saved and server issues!!

People have been praising SDS for years for not tying their single player experiences into the live services portions of The Show, and it sucks to see that they are finally starting to cave a little. I know people will defend this, by saying "to actually progress your created player you still have to play RTTS", but that's not my point. This is the test run to see how far they can push before the players stop playing. I watched 2k do this a few years ago, and it always starts out like an innocent concept then the next thing you know you have to pay stubs to get a decent player to enjoy RTTS.

I'm done with this game unless they undue RTTS & DD integration, it's ruining the experience. I'm going back to MLB 20, if that's the last game that has the single player modes intact without online integration, then that's the last MLB The Show game that I'm playing. They want everyone to shell out money for every single aspect of the game & it's a disgusting cash grab. I'm sick of this Underhanded B.S. when I pay 100 dollars for their B.S. game & not only is RTTS pretty much broken in every way (progression doesn't work, equipment doesn't work, you can't make multiple players anymore) But RTTS integrated with DD ruins the experience. Especially when the servers are junk! NEVER BUYING ANOTHER ITERATION OF YOUR GAME unless you guys fix & undue this non-sense!

You can, you just have to select "More Options" once you're on the RTTS tab. It took me a while to figure that out. I'm trying to decide whether or not to just not care about the XP so that RTTS is more enjoyable...then maybe putting the sliders to default later.

The fact that it can't even switch between my 2 archetypes when I go from pitching to hitting and I'm throwing 84 mph fast balls even tho I chose my pitcher archetype pisses me off. Having to constantly go into DD to do the work around to actually get my XP points for my archetype is also annoying

My god I hate having to tweak my equipment every time I go to my load out screen. It’s annoying as hell. We should be able to save the load outs so our equipment setup doesn’t change every time we visit the load out screen or switch between load outs. I’m also not liking the progression issue that is going on right now. I don’t mind the quick work around for now since I know they are working on a solution. But it’s still annoying.
The last thing that really bothers me after reading several posts on this forum is not having the ability to add a 4th or 5th pitch. I put myself as a two-way player that does the occasional spot start. Though if I can’t add a 4th or 5th pitch, this game may end up on the shelf pretty quick. So I’m hoping there’s a patch on the way that fixes that issue. But it wouldn’t surprise if there isn’t. Right now playing MLB The Show ‘19 is looking pretty good. If this game doesn’t receive some serious patch fixes then I won’t be buying MLB The Show ‘22 till I see how that game pans out after 6 months of play and reviews from other players.
