I mean. You could always, I dunno, pinch run for your guy at third before he disappears. Just a thought.
Lol....do you understand how pitch running/hitting works?
I do. I can also spell pinch.
So you understand if you pinch run for a guy it’s still the same batting spot and will disappear right?
Nope, he doesn’t.
So who bats? It’s just an extra spot now in the lineup? If so no wonder this game glitches out every chance it gets.
Also does that mean I can pinch run for anybody at any time and my hitter will still be the same next time through?

Correct, he doesn't. Most of us don't need EIGHT outs to advance a runner to home. We don't know the mechanic, because we've never struggled that bad. In baseball, you get 3 outs to do it. I can't believe the crying LOL. At least it's no longer about servers here. You sir will be a legend talked about for years to come. Congrats.

You do realize that if you need EIGHT outs to advance a runner, you don't deserve that runner? Bunt, fly balls, steal, this isn't hard.
OMG LOOK AT HOW GOOD I AM!

It's on veteran difficulty my friend. And correct, most of us have not had this issue. Two fly balls gets the guy to third. This isn't complicated. If you need help, let me know. I'm always here to help.

Never occurred to me. My bad.
I guess I’d be bummed if that happened to me in a showdown, but I’ll be honest, it hasn’t.
As has been pointed out, I think the best approach here is to just hit the ball into the outfield at least once per eight batters.
-
Man these forums have some of the worst gatekeeping and "get good" kind of replies.
You shouldn't lose a runner just because you are struggling to hit. Sometimes you get unlucky. I've beaten these showdowns without making any outs, then other times for some reason just can't score that one last run in like 8 outs. If you are good enough at this game to do it easily every time good for you. That doesn't mean disappearing runners isn't a huge issue. Nobody should lose a challenge because a runner disappears no matter how many chances they had to score them. -
I think it’s funny that you seem to be calling me a gatekeeper.
Obviously it’s a huge issue. What do you propose as a solution? I tried to think of what would happen irl and couldn’t come up with anything.
I’ve lost my share of showdowns, and as I said, this disappearing runner thing hasn’t happened to me. I get frustrated when I lose too but I try not to just come on here to [censored] and moan about it, because usually if I lose, it’s because I didn’t hit well.
-
Same solution when you are kids playing at home and the person coming up to bat is on base because each team only has 4 guys. The guy who just made the last out replaces the runner.

They already put it on rookie and Veteran difficulties, now you want ghost runners?
Just practice and get better. I haven't lost a moment yet, and I'm not good at this game....

It’s literally impossible in real life. The most you can do is have the 6 hitter up, bases loaded two outs, with the lead off guy on third.
It didn’t happen last year though, so thats where the real annoyance is coming from. The “git gud” replies are absolutely toxic though.
BTW, I beat it tonight....and got a server error so it didn’t count.
Edit: and I know you said hit it to the OF...one of the main things people say to do to bear showdown is work count and try to draw walks early...that can lead to more k’s as well.
The point is not everyone is good...not everyone has time to “practice” a video game. Between server errors and [censored] lie this it KILLS the game.
-
I’m curious. What happened last year? Does the player at third hit and run the bases at the same time?
I find the constant complaining to be more toxic.

Ghost runner or replaced with someone else.
You think complaining about showdown having a server error or losing baserunners is more toxic than the issue itself? I think the shilling for SDS by people like Lucas is FAR more toxic.
You are at least being reasonable.

I've never lost one, so I don't know exactly what you're going through. But when you come here and complain about losing base runners, lie, change your post, claim you didn't, and look for sympathy...sorry?
If you have real questions about how to get better, we're here for you. Otherwise, I don't know what you want from us. Sorry man. Just try again?

How many people have the bosses yet...I’ve been putting in a couple hours each day, did all the missions and conquest, showdown, Davis program...I’m still about 50K shy. Oh and also, the inning rewards are dogshit...if I knew they’d nuke rewards in favour of making BR and World Series rewards grindable I would’ve politely declined
I got mine Saturday

Well, I beat it tonight, and lost it due to a server error. So that’s one loss due to a Disappearing baserunner, and another due to an error.
How much does ramone pay you to defend the game?

While I've never had a disconnect, that's absolutely inexcusable. Hopefully they find a way to compensate the countless players that have had that issue.
The individuals I'm not defending are the ones that can't get a base runner home in 8 outs, and they blame SDS for programming issues. Your issue of disconnecting is completely different. Of course, given your track record of lying in this thread, I do question the authenticity of your statement. perhaps a video will help clear that all up.
-
Nobody is here defending the game. Believe me, anybody who is still around these forums after the last couple of years, has seen their share of poor gameplay.
Obviously, not all of us can (or should) spend all day every day getting better at this game.
It can be infuriating, but if you get a little perspective and don’t take it too seriously, it can actually be pretty fun, which is the point, isn’t it?
My advice to people struggling with showdowns would be to find what works for you, and not worry about how you’re supposed to beat them.
I personally hate taking pitches and chasing cpu dots in the dirt, so I decided to take perks that give me bonuses early in the count. I just completed a TA showdown with an 8/8 mission success. It’s way easier going in against the final boss tied 12-12.
Find a way to play the game so it is fun for you, or just let it go and watch mlb tv or something, or take a walk outside!
My .02 cents worth.
