Hey man, I made World Series and went 12-0 in BR on my TV in 17, 18 and 19. Yes I play on a monitor now, but it really doesn't differ that much from a TV in game mode. I still play on my TV sometimes and I hardly notice a difference.
And if you're so hung up on it, spend $150-200 and find out yourself I wasn't wrong and you're just not that good at the game (yet).

I stopped playing video games on TVs a long time ago. Once you use a good monitor, you instantly see a difference in sports games and shooters. I’ll never play on a big screen TV ever again except for old school consoles that I’ve collected over the years.

Honestly the game is too easy to hit right now. I can't get anybody out unless they are awful. Each Ranked Seasons game is a dang home run derby for both teams. Can't wait till I make it to HOF difficulty to actually enjoy playing a good competitive game.

Complaints early on that is was too easy to hit are what turned 20 Into an RNG fest last year. Wait until there are some half decent pitchers in the game before saying it's too easy to hit off of live series gold cards

Great feedback bro! lol. I am having fun with the game! I just wish the showdown grind had more variety. I know you can skip to the end and use the base running glitch, but I do the moments for the XP and stubs. Too bad I've done them so much I just need to see the team I am facing to know what to do in the moment. I wish they would be different. Other than that, Its a lot better than 20!
What's the base running glitch?

Give it a few weeks. They'll patch the hitting into a home run derby. Happens every year.

You don’t need a monitor. Try different camera view. Strike zone is lame, try fisheye 2. Make sure tv is on game mode

if im struggling to hit i switch to strike zone 2 for a bit sometimes i hit better, then back to one when ive stopped swinging at balls every pitch

This guys not wrong, I got a monitor and I’m only slightly better, it doesn’t make you into a hitting machine. As for fastballs I’ve noticed the opposite, it seems to me it’s harder to hit off speed this year. Everyone I play murders standard fastballs and can’t touch off speed other than an occasional slider. Also the sinker and cutter seems even more OP than last year. Half the cutter I’ve seen come in at changeup speeds lol.

I play on a monitor but tried it on my tv and didn’t have an issue hitting. Maybe try starting the ah with your pci higher so you can get to the fastball quicker

Use custom practice mode. The up and in fastball is what always gets me 90% of time. Watch that release point out of the pitchers hand and learn to recognize pitches. There are plenty of top 50 guys on Youtube that give some real good tutorials. Look up Mr. Gravy, Koogs46, Shelfy, McGunski, and Fuzzy, (there are more, but these are the most popular) and they give some really good pointers. But yes, a monitor does help A LOT

That’s exactly what I was going to ask you.. I switched last year and will never go back. Check out a new TV if you don’t make the switch. A lot of TVs have just as low input lag as monitors these days. Plus if you have next gen, take advantage of hdmi 2.1. Ps5 is suppose to get a near future update for VRR too.

This. TVs vs monitors at 60 frames isn’t even a big difference these days. The statement that “I can hit on a TV” isn’t relevant anymore.
Response time and input lag = good hitting
Good hitting = good player
Good player = Stubs and Cards
Stubs and Cards = forum supremacy

Cant hit fastballs? LOL I'm so early on even high inside fastballs until I reach Hall of Fame difficulty at 700. Legend is a little fast, but I still beat the computer on it all the time. Bottom line is you have to have a monitor to play this game competitively

Timing window is off. They didn't fix it last year. Doubt they do this year. They need to over haul the hitting system.

I felt that way toward the end of last year.
This year doesn’t seem nearly as bad. I’d assume it will only get worse if they ramp speeds up or when everyone is using pitchers with outliner.But I do agree with your larger point...I always got the top players using monitors, but when it feels like you need one to play on all-star that’s just garbage game design. It doesn’t matter how much I love or play the game, I’m not buying a monitor and creating a dedicated setup to play this game,
