Thoughts on this years launch

Give it a few weeks to work out the kinks. It's unfair to judge the game right now. Launch hasn't been super smooth but they will make it right.
-
Myself, personally, I have had a good launch. No real problems with the game, no glitches or anything really messed up. The only problem I have encountered is not being able to do a DD play with friends game last night. Might have been crossplay issues or servers ramping up for full release today but that is the only issue I have encountered so far.
-
Worst launch I’ve ever seen. And I’ve been a gamer since about 1984
-
Might be the best game yet.....too bad for the [censored] servers.

It's the same as any other launch and every one is acting like these problems are exclusive to this years game, or this game in general and not every online game ever made at launch. I'm not saying these problems don't need to get addressed, but going out of your way to cause a riot on a forum must be exhausting
not every online game has issues that are this bad tbh. also lets not act like there isnt issues beyond the online stuff. RTTS is supposed to be a mostly offline mode and that doesnt work at all
The RTTS stuff is being addressed in the next patch. Idk, I've been playing DD since 17. In MLB 17, other than the RTTS and Xbox related problems. Every other problem matches Exactly to 21. Difference is in this game these problems will probably be fixed by the middle of next week. In 17 the same problems persisted for almost 3 months. I know the Xbox players were naive to that fact that these problems might happen. I only Have the problem with posters that have been on these forums for years and still expected a perfect launch, then making 14 posts complaining about what was completely expected to happen with new platforms/generations and double the player base. I can deal with server problems. It happens.
no one is expecting perfection just for most things to work. When people pay 100 for early access and content they want to be able to actually play the game. if it was just the server stuff i wouldnt have a problem at all, even though its frustrating, bc that happens every year. there's just a lot of issues that are pretty huge
I get it, but other than the RTTS stuff everything else is server related in some capacity. Lost stubs, I get the problems, lost cards will be put back eventually. I guess I just have a different mindset because I pay the $100 every year and could care less about early access. To me that alone isn't worth the extra cash. As long as it's not literally game breaking like the fielding was last year I couldn't care less about the other problems because they always get sorted out. Everyone is just too impatient IMO
i mean there are people that still cant even get into the game or redeem their codes. id consider that a pretty bug problem but thats just me

they always make it right. im not worried about that. My gripe is that this stuff is the same every year. thats an issue imo
-
If nothing else, this launch taught me that paying extra to play a few days early and have a little head start on stubs is not worth the time wasted in trying to make it all work properly. I've played this series from the beginning and have always rolled my eyes at the people complaining at launch because I hadn't experienced those issues -- until this year. Well, it all makes sense to me now!

That's not an SDS problem though. That happens every year only through GameStop, not target, Best Buy, or Walmart. Strictly a GameStop problem on that one so that's irrelevant to the discussion. Gamestop flubbs up the release of this game every single time lol

Well, per usual another bad launch for SDS. Servers not working, errors etc

actually when i looked into this Microsoft stated its an SDS issue bc SDS hasnt yet activated the codes. Could be thats just them passing the buck but it seems to be the consensus answer ATM

Honestly, at this point the servers don't even bug me because it happens EVERY YEAR. I expect them to crumble under the traffic, and they never disappoint. Can't remember which year it was but for the first month it was constantly hanging games and disconnecting users...

It could be, but I really doubt it. Every year, and I mean every year, the only place that has a problem with the codes working is when you get the game from GameStop. That just seems like too much of a coincidence for it to be SDS fault on that one

The people here making excuses for SDS are embarrassing. If your game and your servers cant handle people playing the game at launch, then stop charging people for early access and then being surprised when they are upset when it doesnt work. The [censored] you people accept just because its a video game is insane.
"Oh well their servers are bad for the first few weeks at launch every year so its ok"
[censored] why is that ok? Why are you just accepting that they completely fail to learn from their mistakes year after year. These arent server issues for 20 minutes right at launch, its a thing that lasts weeks year after year after year.

this is my point exactly. why is everyone just so okay with the lack of improvement

And it's not just a lack of improvement, it's going backwards.
In the past if the servers were overloaded you could go play RTTS while they sort it out. Now they tied RTTS to online so you can't even do that without errors!
-
Not a smooth launch, but I expected this (due to previous launch issues and them going multi-platform). Hopefully, SDS will get everything worked out soon!
-
I'm impatient a and I think this is the worst launch of any sports game I can remember. This launch is very close to Cyberpunk 2077 in my opinion.
I'm not cursing SDS, I don't want my money back, I'm gonna play a lot this year. But I think they should be prepared much better, these issues are horrible.
Just imagine what if EA would give you such a product -

Seems like we are in the minority but I’ve had a pretty good experience as well. I’ve had one online game disconnect and maybe twice I had to back out and log back into DD. Other than that it’s just been baseball️
I can’t hit for [censored], but that isn’t SDS’ problem
-
I can't call it a good launch. People are not getting xp or rewards or both which really shouldn't happen. Even if they change the sliders and stop getting xp they should be able to change it back to default and get xp again. That is considered a big fail and needs to be fixed asap. Apart from that the game plays pretty good.

I take it you didn’t play Outriders at launch? Haha
