I'm a little flummoxed because this is the first time since 2017 they've used "old" legends as the mega collection rewards. But that just means I'm now stoked for how we end up with 99 Clemente, Puckett, Pedro and especially Hank.
-
I am relieved that the LS collections rewards are guys who I know I don't do very well with allowing me to invest in cards I like because for the last 2 years I struggled with every collection reward player, especially Mantle. I can't stand jerky stiff stances or toe taps so I definitely won't be going for Chipper.

Alot of people are upset because the rewards in BR are now obtainable even without going 12-0. I'm excited about it, but I can see why some guys are upset.
And that's just kind of silly.
Seeing as how a lot of us were upset that it took weeks to fill our Buy Orders for cards like Chipper and Willie Mays, this is nothing but a good thing.
-
Really was hoping for a squad battle type option for offline players. That and the collection rewards were disappointing.
-
Very excited that chipper is collection reward

This is true. Finally got my Ted Williams order filled. Wish I could of gotten the Chipper and few others, but the line was just too long at this point. I'm looking forward to the grind.

Chipper is an L bc he’s better vs lefties
-
Chipper is fantastic. I have every card in 2020 and his 99 Signature Series was fantastic. Now this one has even more power and SS eligibility. W

Can't say I'm underwhelmed... granted, my experience for these kinds of game modes is really rooted in HUT, so take that as you will.
It’s like going from solo from 12 to 18 yo to prom night.

I'm not completely let down, but I'm not as excited for the big three as I was in 19 or 20. In 19 we had Pudge, Hornsby, and Mays. I really liked all three of those cards, although most people hated Pudge. Plus 2/3 played positions that are usually weak early on with catcher and second. In 20 we had Biggio, Sheffield, and Mantle. I got the game late so Biggio and Sheffield never got a lot of use, but I loved Mantle and Biggio was always a solid option on the bench since he was fast and could play catcher in a pinch. Early on I assume Biggio was again a great option for catcher or second.
I hit really well with Ortiz in 20 and liked his card, but I feel like he was a perfect mid-game boss like he was last year. To me, he is a little disappointing as the AL reward since his defense is obviously trash, he is slow, and he plays first which always has a ton of options. Soriano looks better than I expected, and he will have great defense at multiple positions including 2nd. I'm not a fan of the card art, but I'll definitely have him on my team. Chipper Jones is one of my favorite cards and I know he'll be a beast...but the defense is kind of weak for the MLB reward. Mays and Mantle were 5 tool players which made them perfect for that slot.
Still pumped to get started and I'll definitely finish the collection, but I'm at least a little disappointed.

Perfectly explained

So, to recap:
people complain when there are end-game 99s released at launch.
More people complain when the collection rewards are underwhelming. We have achieved peak Show!!!
-
I haven’t read all of the comments so I assume I’m probably in the minority along with the OP but I’m not super excited about the 3 big LS rewards either. But I know Chipper has a lot of fans on here so I’m sure there will still be a lot of people dying to get that card.

All 3 are good cards and players. I think it's more that some expected new legend reveals as collection rewards.

Im happy not to have to spend billion stubs for hank or pedro.
Everyone used chipped in 18 as legend. Arguably best 3b in game. Gonna take months to get that many stubs anyways so i cant complain eitherway -
Anyone else shocked the Live series Collection reward wasn’t 99 Hank Aaron ?
