I think Ranked Seasons will be now based on Divisions

The Roman numerals IMO mean 5 stages of a Clemente program similar to Jackie's program in 20. They have made little to no changes to ranked seasons in 5 years so I doubt They have anything to do with ranked
I thought they said on today's video that there would be changes to RS and BR. I would be very surprised that it's for 5 stages of Clemente for 2 reasons. 1.) Why not Hank Aaron, who is arguably a bigger star than Clemente. 2.) Every year they have programs for certain cards and they have never called those out with some major cliffhanger in years past.

- Aaron will be the live series collection reward
- Every time there is a teaser like that it's always for cards/content, almost never modes/gameplay
- They say they make changes to ranked and BR every year and never do
I would love some changes to ranked but I wouldn't hang my hat on it

I’m guessing they are changing the rewards/structure. There is no way SDS wants a repeat of this year with months long waits for a dozen+ cards at max price.

There is no way they are changing the rewards structure, however, I do think this will be a part of something bigger with tournaments at the end of the week. Again, I’m just speculating... it will be fun to maybe play a Weekend league, as a WS player, it could be fun to play for extra rewards on the weekends.

I think the Roman Numerals presented on today’s Feature Premiere are a hint at that... just speculating
Explain what you envision for divisions?

‘Things are getting different, including how Ranked Seasons and Battle Royale rewards are changing’.
(Stephen Haas, today’s stream)
What that means who knows but it could mean a possible change to rewards structure.

I highly doubt they’ll mess with the fact that you can acquire the reward as soon as you get to the promise land (either 900 or division I) I think they’ll try to implement a FIFA type of division play.. again, just speculating!!!!!
-
My personal thought on the roman numerals is new tiers bronze (i) silver (II) gold (III) Diamond (IV) Prestige (V) it lines up neatly like that and means they don't have to change much just make things look different
-
They need to change RS. They need to make it like Madden where they have the Super Bowl if you make it with presentation etc etc. They should make a 20-24 RS schedule and you would need to win 14+ to make it to the postseason. If you win 20+ you avoid the wildcare game. You can restart the season if you lose or started bad. I think right now it takes 20+ games to make it to WS from the lowest tier. This would still reset after 1 month like it currently is. But basically you can play multiple seasons via restarting the season until the following month when new rewards come out.
Then you have the different series and you would have to win 3/5, 4/7 of your next games to advance etc etc. You would play ppl that are on the same playoff series. Would be epic to make it to the WS and you would need to win 4/7 not 1 game like it is now. Kinda pointless you get all the WS rewards for only winning 1 game. Would make it more fun and realistic.

Whatever it is hopefully we’ve gotten away from the month long seasons. It’s a bit redundant, you end where you end. More season, more rewards please. And hopefully BR is still the over the top quality it’s always been.

Basically it’s a division based system, where you play 10 games each season. A higher division will require you to win more games, if you get to a certain division (D2 in FIFA) you automatically qualify for the Weekend leagues , where they give you rewards based on your record. You can also qualify via an online tournament.

I hope this isn't the case for people who want to compete but don't have time to grind every week due to jobs. Definitely don't like the weekly idea.
Regardless what they do, everybody needs to start from bottom work thier way up every season no more of this BS of picking up where you left off that's crappy.
BR is to op on the rewards that needs to tie into event type rewards. jmho

I agree that ppl shouldn’t be brought a tier down only — however if they do this I hope they really addressed the competitive way the game plays - playing on allstar or below can be brutal with outcomes these last few years and it honestly just makes me not want to play the game.

Yeah it's really hard to try to figure out how to do things for everybody. Part of me wants pitching same as legend throughout, but the other part of me feels like if they did they would lose people in DD.
If they did Division type mode each season? Maybe a 7 game qualifier and win/loss determines what division you start out in perhaps? Like a WS atmospere best out of 7 type thing but 7 games total?

I think AS for qualifier making it same oppurtunity for every1 is fair. We are talking DD some people will earn better cards quicker than others throughout giving them chance to advance to higher division.

I think it would be bad if everyone started back down at Regular Season when it resets; most people hang around AS or WC; now every new season world beaters would go back down into that pool and beat up lesser players, making the separation even greater and turning away a lot of players.
*edit: I have no problem having the best/elite starting closer to the rewards there or on BR; if you’re great you deserve to be rewarded better or else what’s the motivation to keep playing?

Or they might lose b/c those players have been practicing? No i think you start square 1 every season.
How would you like it if the team in real life won the WS and the league said congrats on winning WS next years record don't count you are automatically in the playoffs? Earn your way back up it's a new season. That's how i see it.
If you are going to do competitive then do it! Don't half @ss it my opinion.

I see of it more like relegation and promotion in soccer - I know, I know it's a different sport. As others have mentioned, maybe it's a series format per division, something like (including ST to fit the Roman numerals I-V narrative, in case it's related to RS):
- I ST (Veteran): 1st game in RS only
- II RS and AS(Veteran): win 3 games to promote (no relegation)
- III PR and WC (All-Star): win 3 games to promote / lose 2 game to relegate back earlier division
- IV DS and CS (HoF): win 4 games to promote / lose 3 game to relegate back earlier division
- V WS (Legend): play the rest of the season (no relegation) on this difficulty in Event style with XP, Stubs, and packs as additional rewards. This is where top players can duke it out for top 50
In DS and above, you drop down one division to begin the next season. So if you make WS, you only have to win 4 of 7 games in CS to "repeat." In WC and below, you start in the same division you finished.
Advantages:
- The top players will get to WS faster (which they are going to anyway), making AS and HoF divisions more tolerable at the beginning of each season.
- Quitting/Dashboarding (not a problem, IMO) is less incentivised because you have a finite number of tries before relegation
- Once you make to a division where the difficulty changes, you're guaranteed to play on that difficulty until you're relegated to a lower division and difficulty.
- Presumably more players make WS throughout the game cycle
I'm sure there are many reasons why this doesn't work, so let's discuss it.
