Bat Speed Rating
-
In the game and real life obviously everyone doesn't swing the bat at the same speed. I think it would be cool if they implemented a bat speed stat so we can see the batters individual bat speed. I don't think it should be on the 1-125 scale but maybe 1-5. 1-slow 2-okay 3-good 4-fast 5-elite. Would anyone else like to see something like this or no, bad idea?

Its practically already like this, there are just not any ratings attached. I guess it would help to have a visual representation, but its not rocket science that Mondesi’s swing is much quicker than Cal Ripkens

Thats what I'm saying, we know they are different so it would be nice to see a visual representation. That way you know without having to try someone out for a bit what their swing is like. Obviously using them yourself is the true test of how you like them but still, wouldn't hurt.

I know that bat speed can be calculated and recorded similar to how pitch speed is, in miles per hour. I like this topic because I've been thinking about a bat speed attribute as well. Players with longer arms and longer, heavier bats may have slower mph readings on their swings despite good power numbers, I would think. Mass, speed and force are different things that would probably be discussed and constructively debated in The Show communities if bat speed attributes were released.

I completely agree. We need hitting tendency, visual representation of the swing and bat speed in the card description.

I have brought that up already. They need to completely overhaul the game and start from scratch using a physics engine. Look up the company natural motion. This tech is over a decade old and if they used it, this game would be amazing. Just shows you how far behind they truly are.
