Biggest Fixes for 2021

I would like to see more hits and fewer HR’s, and amount of games where I give up 6 hits and 4 are solo bombs is crazy.
Check swings need to be called strikes much more often, especially with horrendous timing. There need to be WAY fewer foul balls, especially with horrendous timing (any very early/late swing on a ball out of the zone should not be a foul ball imo). Make it so you can sac bunt and not have to bunt the ball to 2nd base to do so. Call pitches on the black for strikes, I think any portion of the ball on the black should be a strike. Increased strikes along with less fouls and checks should allow you to reward good swings with hits more often and keep the game balanced.
Fix fielding, let outfielders field balls at walls and make Diamond fielders get the quicker better animations. Please PLEASE make defense at 1B and 3b matter this year. David Ortiz and OOP Jim Thome should not be able to auto dive and react with the same speed and accuracy as Matt Chapman and Keith Hernandez.
PLEASE fix the input lag at MLB Stadiums, I like the novelty of a minor league park, but it would be nice to be able to use the MLB stadiums.

Oh, and let us save teams in events so we don’t have to redo the whole freaking team every time we forfeit an entry or lose two games. Also, let us forfeit a BR draft in the middle if we know it’s gonna be a re-draft.
In RS, display the rating of the opponent in the first screen so we know what difficulty we’re going to be playing on instead of having to look dudes up online to find out their rating -

I enjoy pitching far more than hitting, so I think it would be sick if you could flex on clutch strikeouts.
Being able to flex replay a big K would be awesome

I’d honestly prefer not to see a show ‘21. SDS needs to take a year off and completely rebuild the game imo. Great content means nothing if the game plays like doodoo. IMO majority of sports series devs need to stop pushing steaming piles out year after year. SDS needs to take the time to get this series back on track, I personally could use a year off from this series after this years experience
I’ve been saying this for awhile. The game is stale. The competitive edge of this game was not there the last few years imo.
I just want a game I feel like I can grind and that skill is very important.
I didn’t feel like I was in control of winning and losing. I could completely outplay someone and lose and completely get outplayed and win. It made no sense.

I really want to be able to play competitively with a 3rd person camera and on a television. I don’t want to have to sit in front of my 27” monitor. It would be nice to actually use all the power and graphics of next gen and not have them be hampered by the strike zone camera and the need to use a monitor.

• I would agree that in Moments, you shouldn’t be penalized for drawing a walk or being hit by a pitch. And you should be able to remove player lock to control the runners or fielders yourself. Need an XBH and the runner on 1st won’t take third on a ball in the gap. Or you can’t give up a run, and the CPU plays the infield back with a runner on third and less than two outs. Yeah, awesome.
• Showdown, it’s built on an extreme pass/fail system (which I like) but they should be more transparent about each goal... will you start with a runner on base? Which batter in your line-up will hit first? Some goals like “get an XBH and a run before recording three outs” urgently need that info.
• Agreed that Prestige programs should be available offline, even if only starting on All Star difficulty or higher.
• If it’s a purely hitting-only related goal or Moment we’re given, allow us to skip the half off the inning that doesn’t matter. You’ll get a pure hitting goal for a game, regardless of winning or losing (like “score two runs and get two hits with one XBH in three innings”) and then have to record every out on the mound, or vice versa for pure pitching goals. It’s boring and pointless.
• Allow us to track specific stat goals, like getting 20 hits with Twins, or 10 homers with Dodgers, so that we know in-game where we stand.
• No home run camera where your batter blocks the flight of the ball. C’mon.
• 100% new commentary. It is long overdue.I had some of these, on a list about 2019, and basically gave up on them being fixed.
They would be amazing quality of life fixes, especially being crippled in an XBH Moment and the runner on first is the pitcher...
Also, 2-run Showdown Moments that are like "strike out the first batter you face" are flat-out stupid, especially since pitcher Showdown Moments are so rare.

Rant FinI would agree with most if not all of this, especially limiting the numbers of homers and increasing hits. I want to play baseball, not home run derby. I also think it would be sweet if the cards actually had variable sliders to play down in a slump and up in a groove.

Rant FinWe had more hits and fewer homeruns in ‘19. Contact swings were actually viable options, and proved to be far more effective than just trying to hit homeruns. I expect ‘21 to be even worse than this years version, which will be hard to do since for the first 2 months of this games life cycle your players couldn’t perform the fundamentals of baseball at all.

User input mattering more for hitting and pitch are the biggest two for me. Check swings need to be fixed. I’ve played way too many people have check swung 30+ times a game only to have 4 of them be called swings. Pitches on the black being called balls is a huge problem too. There are way too many foul balls on poorly timed swings on pitches out of the zone.
For multi game moments it would be nice to go from one game to the next without having to go all the way back to the moments menu. If there’s one thing that madden has gotten right recently it’s that you can roll from one solo challenge right into the next

You just listed all the things everyone wanted fixed in 19 and they sold us on user input mattering...then released a trash can of a game that was exactly like it’s predecessor.

I hate the score 3 runs in the three innings of the showdown and then you have to pitch as well. I hate showdown.

Honestly I just want a decent hitting engine along with pitches that don’t gravitate towards the middle. Let’s establish that first.
Agreed.
