Penalty For Requesting FQ While Losing
-
A recent opponent had the brass neck to ask for a "Friendly" Quit while losing 6-0 in the 3rd inning.
I think that if/when such things are reported, the offending player should receive - at minimum - a 24-hour ban from playing online.
I also think that the game should incorporate a system whereby it's not possible to ask for an FQ beyond a certain threshold, or better still requiring more than one button press to accept an FQ.
Thoughts?

I've mentioned this before. Eliminate the FQ from Ranked, BR and Events. Problem solved.
Something comes up that warrants a FQ, take the L on your way out the door.

It's honestly not that big of a deal, literally decline it and they'll quit immediately, so who cares? Things come up, and sometimes people need to friendly quit, there's no reason to take them out because you are offended and can't get over it with a quick press of a button.
-
If things come up, they should just log out.
I'm certain that anybody else that has seen over 5 FQ in their lifetime, they come when the opponent is losing.
-
I don't accept friendlies unless its to my advantage.

Are you sure a 24 hour ban is enough? Maybe SDS should send a major league ball player to their house to take out their knee caps with a bat.
It's a video game. Decline the friendly quit, and lighten up, Francis.

Friendly quit came in handy for me a couple times in those stadium locked events they had this year.
Stadium lock didn't allow for the choice of time of day, and occasionally an awful shadow or glare would show up on the batter's eye that neither me or my opponent felt like dealing with.
Friendly quit is fine. It's not a big deal. If people are accidentally accepting them, the obvious solution is to add an "are you sure?" confirmation, not do away with it entirely.

FQ are abused more often than used legit.
Be gone with them. Less complaining about it.

Definitely not, stop being a baby, push a button and get over it

Baby? Babies send FQ.
Real men turn off the machine and take care of whatever needs to get done.

Real men also don't cheat, bang on trash cans, and use buzzers, but what the hell do I know. But seriously buddy, it shows maturity to get over stupid small things. It's childish to not forgive and forget. It's not that big of a deal. I'd hate to see you mad about something in real life if you're this salty about pushing O.

You just called yourself a child...
Keep supporting the FQ cheese guys if you choose.
When I get a FQ request, I deny it EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's called competitive play. I don't care if I win or lose. I came to play.

woah, woah, woah, excuse me? How did that come across as me being childish? I work with kids for a living, and believe me I have dealt with kids being stubborn and not getting over something stupid for years, and that's what you're doing right now buddy. I'm telling you to relax and that's not that big of a deal. I'm confused about what I'm not forgiving and forgetting because I'm not mad at anything, I'm just trying to make you think rationally

Dude. Pump the brakes.
Real men don't bang trash cans..... It's childish not to forgive and forget....
Double check yourself.
Regarding FQ, who cares. They are never used legit. That's the bottom line. The fact that you and I are arguing over it, is pointless. Just like hitting O in the FQ, you could have ignored the post by me and move on. Instead, you got snide. I replied.
Don't care what you do for a living. I'm 47 and work with kids all day too. I also reply to kids on these forums.
My opinion.. FQ needs to go.

I had another RS game yesterday that both of us obviously had issues with lag. I requested a FQ after they batted and they rejected. No problem. We soldiered on a couple more innings with a total of 6 hits between us and then they came back with the FQ request. I accepted and moved on.
Sometimes the gameplay is unplayable, or terrible enough that it only makes sense to have the option for both players to leave the game without penalty.

I'm genuinely curious why you are so adamant that FQ needs to go. I understand that you don't accept them for any reason, and that's fine. But I don't understand why you feel they need to be abolished entirely.
I would think having them in the game would give someone who always denys them an advantage. If only for the fact that once in awhile you'd be matching up with someone sending friendly quits until they match up with a favorable record.
I'm not at all looking to argue, I'm just trying to see where you are coming from and get a better understanding of your side.
-
There are rare times where a friendly quit is necessary...its amazing how many people get offended when they are offered one. I can see how it is laughable when the person is down by 5, so you decline and move on. It takes more time for you to come onto this forum and cry about it than it does to decline the request (with most times they will just quit and you get an easy win).

Most people don't use FQ for legit purposes. You need to accept that to understand my point of view. 95% of FQ are bantha poodu.
My reasoning for removing it, is that there are chronic FQ people that send it EVERY GAME that they are planning to quit and are losing. It's a cultural issue of people using a game mechanic in an attempt to avoid the L. If one person out of 20 that they send the FQ to take it in error, they will continue to do it.
If the dog needs to go out, if I have to take a call, flip the laundry, get the doorbell etc, pause or quit. If something comes up that I need to shut down instead of playing, I should shut the machine off and take care of business.
FQ users are the same folks that dashboard.

I agree 100% with just about everything you said. People attempt to abuse it, most offers are from people losing or afraid of losing when they see your record, and there is a small percentage of people who will accept one in error.
I however think there are better solutions than simply removing it entirely, as there are certain times where a FQ is favorable to both parties.
No argument there needs to be some kind of rework though.

Once got a FQ request when I was up by a couple in the 9th inning. Declined it as (even though I'm a terrible hitter) I'm trying to prestige some cards and every infrequent hit matters to me. Instead of quitting, the user started to do that bunt-dancing thing. I don't really get it.
