Idea for Prestiging Players
-
Rather than using stats, which causes issues like dashboarding and playing events purely for stats (like myself sometimes), what if there was a reward path in which at certain numbers of wins for RS and/or events, you could select a card from your team to prestige.
For offline players, the requirement would be a higher number of wins, but can be obtained through Conquest wins on HOF or higher.
Thoughts?

I like the idea! Dashboarding has gotten out of control
-
They should just make the stats count offline as well. Or just have ABs as the only stat required online.
-
I think they could easily fix it a number of ways. They could make online/offline options. They could also make it that when a player disconnects, the current play completes prior to disconnect, which would negate the frustration of being dashboarded.

Easiest solution:
Get rid of prestiging players. Nine times out of ten, the extra 3 pts isn't worth the hassle.

I'm fine with having an offline stat tally option, with all levels included, the values changing depending on the level, like in MTO. However, making Prestige even more dependent on the cesspool that is RS sounds like a disastrous mistake to me.
It's bad enough in there with so much negativity, so many angry knuckleheads, etc. Yuck.

I think it is a fun aspect of the game and one of the prime motivators that keeps me playing in this stage of the game.

Make it a two stats to achieve like pitchers, AB and innings. Pitchers have Innings and K's.

Is RS that bad that you've called it a cesspool? I know Twitter is, but if RS is that bad, then I'm really missing nothing. This coming from a gamer who always played games, even racers and adventure games offline. It all changed with NFL 2K, but even then I had nothing to prove playing other humans.

Let me be a bit clearer.
Ranked Seasons games can be fantastic. It's entirely possible to be matched up with an opponent who isn't a preening, angle-shooting, pointlessly aggressive collection of displaced anger and bile.
I've played many RS games that have been really enjoyable, fun win or lose.
Having said that, the ratio of players who are playing honorably to those who apparently define their self-worth by winning at all costs while being as nasty as possible is way out of whack.
One of my hopes for TS'21 is that the developers spend significant amounts of time and energy on addressing the more problematic issues endemic to RS play.
