I’ve faced quite a lot of players who slide step pretty much the whole game. The tactic seems to be to give you the least amount of time possible between pitches, to encourage poor swing decisions and timing.

I personally find it pretty annoying. These same players often are the ones also holding R2 while you pitch.

I put really bad swings tbh, it worked against me very well. I’ll be ready to take a lot of pitches next time.

I very rarely use the slide step. I'll use it in an obvious manner, when im facing a 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 count sine those are running counts, but beyond that I'll do it if someone has taken 7-pitches and foul majority of them off. Depending on their timing depends on the pitch selection.

I used it when the situation requires me to use it. I was surprised to see it with no runners on.

Press and hold L2 and then pitch.

Can all starters do it with nobody on base?

How does Slide Stepping work with no runners on? Does the pitcher switch to Side step before he pitches? Does it only work with pitchers that don't use a wind up?

Slide stepping all game and with no runners on base is not realistic at all so that’s not a good argument at all for this situation

I started to notice it yesterday, I honestly thought it wasn’t possible, I’ll check later with a pitcher with regular windup and a pitcher thst pitches from the stretch

No they have to be out of the stretch, so must starters can’t, but most relievers can

I mean if they are slide stepping all game it negates the advantage of ding it to 'quick pitch' and just makes it harder for them to control their pitches. So I'm all for it. It would be useful if starters could slide step for those tedious long at bats you get mainly in AS, where it is good to mix it up.

All game no, but if anybody is on base inhave nonproblem with someone dokng it to me. You lose control when slide stepping.
