... to get all these cards, to prestige, etc.

It’s my first year playing this game, so I’m wondering: Is it hard for you guys to move on when the next game comes out because you no longer get to play with the cards that you grinded so hard for?

    I’m anticipating that.

This is my first year as well and it seems SDS does things differently than other Ultimate team games. Like Madden you will know what high end cards come out because they do every single year. Copy and Paste. SDS seems to get this and subtle changes like one year its a Prime card and next year its a Signature series. My problem is seeing if i want to play with the same players year in and year out. Like I love Frank Thomas but seems like it would get stale using him all year and then again the following year and so on. If that makes sense

I came from Madden (and 2K) as well. So glad I made the switch and I won’t be returning to any time soon.

I was really excited to prestige cards at the beginning of the year. The plus 3 wasn't a big deal, it didn't really make the player any better but it was a sense of accomplishment.

The online only aspect and event team names begging for stats ruined it for me. No accomplishment there.

It flat out destroyed events too. I'm still honestly amazed that people still don't have Paxton prestiged after all these months and as many times as I've faced him

Well sometimes people are new to events amd mainly play ranked seasons and don’t use Paxton, (like me) I haven’t prestiged him.

I actually never played 2k Ultimate team. I bought it this weekend for $16 and its a microtransaction fest worse than madden. Im just having fun playing offline no desire to chase "god cards" because it seems impossible

I don't play new players very often in events though. Most of my runs are 7-9 wins so I usually play dudes that play this game often

Truth. I played 2k MyTeam every year until I finally got so angry with the predatory microtransactions that I didn't buy it this year. Kids spending like $400 on packs and not getting a single good card... it all just felt wrong. It sucks too because I love basketball but I couldn't support that BS anymore.

I echo this as well. 2k was my most played game the last 4-5 years. This year I couldn't stomach the greed. The game has become so pay to play. On the other hand, The Show is such a rewarding grind. I absolutely love it, and have placed my aim at getting the PS5 in line with being able to snag The Show on launch.

For me, it's a little bit of both. It is a little sad to know all this grinding for cards, stubs, etc...is all out the window. But at the same time I do like enjoy building my team from scratch and starting the grind all over again. Anticipating what and when certain cards some out, new players perhaps that are in the game for the first time, and just the excitement of the new game in general. While I like the final outcome of having a lot of the best cards in the game, half the thrill is in getting there.

I also could not agree more with what some have said about 2K on here. I'm a huge baskeball fan and have bought an NBA game, either 2K or NBA Live every year since I can't even remember when. After playing 2K my team for the past two years I couldn't do it again. It seems pretty much impossible to compete in that mode unless you shell out some real money, and a lot of it. The show destroys 2K in that regard in every way possible and this year I didn't even buy 2K. Just playing the show year round.

I stopped playing online for a few months but I just got Paxton. Kershaw, and Williams prestige over the weekend. It is hitting a struggle with, The only hitters I have prestige is POTM Didi and Duke Snider.

Not really, I’m used to it. It’s starting to become repetitive now though, I’d like some new DD game modes that aren’t moments or moments based. RS is the only H2H option and frankly, it’s no longer good enough since they dumbed the gameplay down to BR level.

I buy it every other year and will spend 2021 playing offline and using lots of different line ups and theme teams. I hate the game online so its easy for me to just play for fun.
