If it lags youre away, if is smooth youre home
Letβs just continue to encourage this by telling people how to do it. SMH
So yeah it lags if you're away, smooth if you're home.
To bunt cheese, push the stick to the right during an AB then tap triangle during the pitch.
To easy steal tap L1 when on base and hold it once you get a 4 step lead. Throw over to first will be an error, ez pz.

I mean it's not just home hunting, its lag hunting. The lag you experience in that menu is the same lag you will have trying to hit. If it's pretty smooth, I'll play as the away, if its rough, I usually back out. Last night I didn't and I could feel the lag trying to catch up with Lefty Grove
Which is fine, my issue is with the first respondent actively participating in teaching someone how to game the system by sharing system exploits. We have enough cheaters in the game. We certainly donβt need people in the community participating in the spread of exploits.
How is 'home hunting' an exploit?
If I want to play a game online I would prefer the connection to be as smooth as possible.

Why donβt you ask SDS enforcement if home hunting is an acceptable practice. My guess is their answer will be a resounding NO. It most certainly is an exploit otherwise it would be a commonly known practice and would be included in their virtual game manual. The fact that I have to point this out is rather troubling. In what universe would you consider this not an exploit???

I laugh at the people who are anti home hunting. I rotate through playing at ALL the stadiums. I enjoy experiencing all the different views and strengths & weaknesses each stadium has to offer. If you donβt home hunt then 9 times out of 10 itβs Shippet, Shippet & more Shippet because people are sheep.

Doesnβt change the fact that itβs a frowned upon practice. If the game developers intended for the user to choose whether you were home or away there would be a setting that you would choose within the game itself to be the home team or away team. Itβs an exploit. Period. And if you believe that itβs not an exploit you need to have your head examined.

Yeah but dude itβs been this way for years. SDS is aware of it yet they have not changed it so it canβt be that big of a concern of theirs.

It has to do with the fact itβs a P2P server. There is nothing they can do to fix it. Thatβs why it hasnβt been patched when it was first discovered years ago. The same can be said with any sports game that matches up two gamers over the internet utilizing a P2P server.

Thatβs simply not true. Any other sports game you lock in your team & THEN it searches. Take Madden for example - You set your lineup, playbooks & uniforms and then search. The Show is the only game that has this issue.

Ummmm until they either get better servers or get away with PvP matchmaking; this will happen.
As I said before, if an when I go into a game, I want to make sure that the connection between me and my opponent is the best that it could be.
The only way to do that, unless they implement a way to see your opponent's connection strength, is by 'cycling' thru the SP Selection or Lineup confirmation screen to see if there is 'lag'.
Someone that does this doesn't necessarily do it to get an advantage; they do it so the connection is smooth. (Some people do it so they can make sure that they're not playing in a stadium, during the day, with a horrible batter's eye)
Again, is it an exploit? Who know's. Me personally I don't think it's an exploit.
Do you consider quick pitching an exploit?

Iβm only talking about the server type not necessarily the home hunting aspect of matchmaking.

Don't forget that if you press R3 as the pitcher starts his motion he'll have no control of where the pitch goes.

I like my road unis better so I let my balls hang and walk into any game whether it's away or home. Unless it's BR, we're home hunting a 9-0+ game.
