Haha wow thats ridiculous. Also, shouldnt that technically be a ground rule double? Or does touching the bag not count as touching the ground?
Yes it should according to my understanding so yeah they can't even get that right
I couldn’t tell exactly what happened. If it hit the pitcher and went over the fence without touching the ground, it would be a home run. If it hit the second base bag then went over the fence, it would be a ground rule double. In neither case would it have been 70 feet (somewhere between 58ish feet to 127 feet).
I think it even hit the ground before it hit the bag, but I can't tell for sure. Either way it's just a detail that would make an extremely awful event more awful.

Great physics and all.
And I’m dead. Thank you man.

Every game has bugs. If this were happening more often than once in every 10,000 hits, it would be considered problematic but still not ‘broken’.
I wish we as users could see frequency percentages on plays like this. Oh to be a developer.
I don’t think anybody ever called The Last of Us broken:

Agreed. But it doesn’t mean something in the physics engine is horribly wrong. Just an unfortunate bug.
Yeah I saw it

Debates are healthy. The healthy ones are, anyway.

We are at the next phase of cheating. Forget trash cans and steroids. Putting Flubber(tm) in the bases is truly cutting edge.

The gameplay is trash. We know it. SDS knows it. I keep contemplating making a thread. Theres literally no point. My tone hasn't changed since the patch a week in. Whoever coded that thing needs to resign.

The patented 70 ft no doubter. Legit.
-
It’s probably a lag issue and not the actual game physics.

No it wasn't, the replay even said 70ft homerun and the run counted as you can clearly see in the video.

We know the game’s broken, you post a weekly thread about it.

“Swing and a drive and gone!!!” Lol

At least they make legitimate complaints about things that are actually bad instead of the usual "i hit 20 perfect perfects for outs in one game" BS complaints.

I try to post at least one a week, with supporting opinions and/or video evidence. I’m sorry you feel as though the developers shouldn’t be held accountable for not managing to even successfully rehash the same old game from year to year without making a lot of basic errors, like repeating the debacle from last year where outfielders couldn’t play balls near walls for the first seven weeks, or catchers couldn’t throw out stealing base runners, or ball physics make very little or no sense whatsoever. Keep defending the game and throwing money at SDS and I’m sure they’ll accidentally get it right in due course. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

I’m not defending SDS at all, my post was just directed towards the OP in a sarcastic manner because all I seem to find when I scroll this forums are complaining threads about the gameplay the he creates.
I agree with him most of the time it’s just that i’ve played this game long enough to realise that the gameplay issues are not the priority for SDS. Giving us juicy new cards is way more profitable and much less time consuming then fixing the gameplay.

Not at all, I was just trying to be funny. I use to take the game seriously like you seem to do. Reducing my play time because of the broken gameplay helped me save a few bucks on broken controllers.
